The Town House is housed in the old art deco Waterside Workers Union Hall at the port end of Westport’s main street.
Built as a ‘house for the town’ it is a place to congregate, socialise & foster relationships over a meal & a drink. It is a public lounge & dining room with traditional food values, locally sourced produce & hospitality with local character.
“We take pride in the well being of the community by supporting our local producers wherever possible & offering you freshly prepared food, made here, by us, for you. All of our breads, baking, sauces, condiments & dressings are prepared on the premise daily. We use free-range eggs & chickens & hand pick our beef from the farm & have them prepared to order at the village butchery in Murchison. Our lettuces, Asian greens, herbs & a selection of our vegetables are grown locally & all of our baking is gluten free.
We welcome the needs of all guests whether it is a three course meal or a bar snack & a quiet place to read the paper. The coffee machine is always on & a selection of cakes & scones are baked fresh daily. The comfortable lounge bar is a welcome haven for a relaxing drink alone or with friends & the north facing deck is the best alfresco space in town to spend a sunny afternoon with a safe enclosed sandpit play area for the children.
A must do on your coastal itinerary & a favourite with the locals; we invite you to make yourself at home & enjoy our house and our town”
