To the Reader and in response to Lynn’s comments: Lynn’s table was told at the time of ordering that there was a delay on food because there was a number of orders up already in the kitchen; this was it due to it being a weekend and in the school holidays.

My wife and co-owner of the business who was on the till and spoke to Lynn was interested in Lynn’s feedback and explained to Lynn at the time, that our menu ordered meals are placed in order in the kitchen. She also explained to Lynn that the other meals that had come out before hers because they were from the cabinet and have a much quicker turn around from order and then to the table, which is usually why people order from the cabinet. We also bring food out quickly for children and the elderly (bowls of fries etc) when requested by their caregivers etc, this may have also possibly been what Lynn saw.

Unfortunately on the day Lynn did not pass any comment about being disatisfied with her meal and as a consequence we are unable to do anything about this. This is disappointing especially given that the dish she ordered is a very popular dish, the mushrooms are delivered directly to us from Parkvale Mushrooms in the Wairarapa and the blue cheese melted over the mushrooms is Kapiti Kikorangi. It is a dish on our lunch-brunch menu and considered by most to be real value for money.

We always enquire with people when paying how they enjoyed their time with us, everyone else on the day did which is our usual feedback and is our goal; the people next in line from Lynn and waiting to pay confirmed this without being asked!!

To the Reader: we have sent all of our contact details to R2D2 some 10 days ago , we said we wanted to find out more detail and put right the experience they had, and to date have had no response. All of us at Traffic are focussed on giving our customers the best experience possible so to read R2D2′s review is extremely disappointing. On the day we had closed and were wrapping up but our manager offered our fresh pizza menu and beverage list and explained if they were happy to come in as the staff carried on we would be happy to look after them. Our menu states that the pizza chosen is made with basil pesto which has pine nuts as an ingredient and all but one slice was eaten by R2D2. One of the drinks chosen was from the blender so this takes longer than the coffee. The cake ordered was put aside until the diners had finished the pizza and was to be taken out. As is our procedure the supervisor for the day went across and asked R2D2 twice how was everything and were they ok, apparently all was ok and no complaints made. It’s important to us that every customer leaves happy, I’m not sure what else we could have done to give R2D2 a better time but if they read this, please contact us direct, on the day would have been better, even on our personal phone numbers which are displayed at the restaurant would be better, but if you feel the need to use this forum, even here. Just to let you know at the time there were about 18 choices on the brunch menu (all day brunch/lunch) with additional daily specials. The mushrooms are couriered direct to us from Parkvale in the Wairarapa and our smallgoods are from Harringtons and the Waikanae Butcher; we also have chilled natural teas. To anyone reading this please, if you are not happy at the time of dining let us know and we will do everything we can to give you an excellent Traffic experience.
