We tried this cafe for the first time recently and the food is delicious. There were so many appealing choices we knew we would be visiting regularly just to try them out. We were delighted with the friendly obliging service and the barista puts a smile on my wife’s face with his creativity. We happily travel out of our area and past several other cafes to get to Cafe Tran.

Great coffee and fabulous, friendly, attentive service. I frequent a few of the local cafes in Onehunga and without doubt the service at Cafe Tran is consistently the best. Nice little touches such as the little biccie on the saucer & bringing me a glass of water when they saw my coffee had finished. It was totally what I needed-(mindreaders!)

This little cafe is pretty much as good as it gets. Such a fan I made an account just to put this review up! – always served with a smile, and they treat you like an old friend from the first visit.

Firstly, the coffee. Simply perfect, at least in terms of double shot flat whites which is what i can comment on Their cabinet food is always fresh, and if you are there i would make a point of trying the almond croissants, OMG muffins or savoury pies – all well worth commenting on. Home made almond paste is definitely a plus.

Regardless of whether you order one muffin or a complete big breakfast, it is always beautifully presented. My Eggs Benedict does always melt in the mouth, and yes, they do catering!

They dont have big flash decor like some, but it is not something that matters when the food, coffee and service is that good. Prices are on a par with others.

In the area? Definitely worth a visit – it is among the best.

Best coffee in Auckland served with panache, big smiles and a homemade biscuit. Delish! Great menu and everything very fresh. There are lots of cafes in Onehunga and Tran is the best of a great choice.

You deserve all the reviews that you have got … the food presentation firstly is superior, congrats to the chefs, the customer service is spot on… very kuwl friendly down to earth staff. Meal prices are consistent with whats out there. But the big breakfast has good quality breads, sausages especially, mushrooms, well in comparison to the library cafe, this place is just as good as brick by brick down the road.

- always excellent, fast and friendly service

- beautifully strong and piping hot hot chocolates with the cutest decorations on top (I’m not a coffee drinker)

- fresh and delicious healthy food choices along with yummy naughty treats

Service is outstanding, coffee superior, presentation of food is excellent.

I only ever visit this cafe alone because I want to savour my always delicious, eggs benedict with salmon alone, without interruption, eye contact or distraction. This cafe has ruined any chance of my ever getting to eat this meal elsewhere and by golly have found myself late on a couple of occasions cos when I need some fresh cuisine with all of the embellishments I come to Cafe Tran, women and children behind me. The picturesque coffee has a good solid depth with fluffy topping and just the right amount of chocolate with a side serve of buttery biscuit.

I meet my friends in Ponsonby cafes but Cafe Tran is mine, all mine!!!! Well done to the staff and chefs. I’ve already forgotten what colour the chairs/tables/walls are but will always remember the service and flavours so well done you bunch.

I have a long history in hospitality and as far as suburban cafes goe Cafe Tran is THE spot to hit for a superb coffee fix and bite to eat. The food is well presented, tasty and reasonably priced. The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure that what you have ordered gets to you in a timely fashion and to your liking. Ben, their barista, is a sweet fellow who relishes in pouring the perfect cup. He will amuse you with pictures atop your coffee. Duc is a grand master of the cafe, who with his suave manner runs a smooth ship. All staff know their regualrs well and treat new customers as if they have always been going there.
If you havent been to Cafe Tran, then you havent lived!!

WOW you rock!! Coffee absolutely definitely the best in town!! Hospitality unremarkable! So friendly, especially first thing in the morning!! When in Onehunga this is the cafe to visit…. if you haven’t had coffee from Tran Cafe you haven’t had Coffee!!

From the food displayed on the counter to the meals that are made to order, everything tantalises your taste buds… The place sparkles and the staff serve you with passion, pride and a smile. If the food doesn’t entice you in, the coffee will. Best coffee I have ever had and can’t seem to get enough of. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed, I promise!

Am a regular there, there service is top notch, the food is all made there and DELICIOUS, it is one of the few places that has an atmosphere..
Would recommend it to anyone that is looking for somewhere to grab a bite and a coffee..

Fantastic breakfasts, excellent service, clean and friendly. They always make really consistent coffee and there are lots of yummy options available.

Cafe Tran gets my points because it gets the point…”provide good food along with good service and excellent coffee consistently” Its simple really just takes more work and attention than most cafes are prepared to give.
