if u love meat then this is the place to go i absolutely love it! the food is Devinne, service is awesome and the food comes fast and fresh!!

although one concern is that i think they should have more chicken and other meats on the menu as some people don’t love beef too much!

and if they were thinking of renovating i think more booth seats or comfortable chairs should be put in for comfort!

but otherwise GREAT place

The worst restaurant food ever!

We bought a voucher to try out this restaurant and Oh My Word! Terrible, Yuk and all the nasty things you can imagine. We were served with stale steak, one that is on discount at the supermarket! when you cut the meat no juice runs out, chewing and yuk. white wine tasted like vinegar yuukkkk. we did not even bother to go for dessert. sooo apalling. We found Wendys better than their food. Horrible horrible experience. Dont even bother trying their food!

Went here last weekend with friends. We had a table by the fire. The restaurant was great, server was friendly. Had the pita bread for entree which was beautiful. Best hummus!! The seafood pasta for main was very nice too. Loved everything will be going here again.

The worst dining experience ever. We bought a discounted voucher to dine here and the food we were served certainly tasted discounted! We dined on a Saturday night and they ran out of a popular brand of beer we wanted to order and also one of the mains and two of the desserts we wanted to order were out of stock too! The food all tasted the same – with a strong salt flavour which overpowered anything else in the dish. Have dined here a few times in past years and it was always wonderful so I don’t know what’s happened since then, very disappointing! I have also emailed the restaurant 4 times to complain as well as mailing a letter of complaint to them and have NEVER heard back from them. Stay away from this restaurant in my opinion, I know myself and none of my large group of friends will ever be back!

We were lucky enough to be invited out to dinner by our agent that sold our house. We thought the meals that were served up to us were excellent and service was good. I intend to come back again with some of my friends.

A group of six of us ate here a few Saturdays ago. The atmosphere was amazing and the belly dancer put on a really good show. However, the food took well over an hour to arrive (it was rather busy) the food was quite nice, but not presented very well at all and over priced.

We went to have dinner at Troy Restaurant because we had purchased a discounted deal, which was really good value. Although the food presentation was mediocre, the overall taste was reasonably good. The wait staff appeared to be inexperienced at best and we had to actively attract their attention to have our dirty plates cleared away and order dessert. Not the worst dining experience we have ever had, but we will not be rushing back.

Came here for a hen’s night (though not a rowdy one)and the waiters were all so lovely, they ended up painting our nails at the end of the night! There weren’t any issues with the food at my table and the pumpkin canneloni I had was beautiful. The belly dancer was amazing and entertaining getting various people up to dance with her. I was sceptical because of the previous bad reviews written on this site but was very happy with it in the end!

I was very disappointed with the standard of food served at Troy which left me feeling embarrassed as I had recommend to my friends we dine there tonight. We shared our meals which reassured me that the painfully low quality of the food and the poor skill in cooking and presenting it was standardized across all dishes. For starters, the calamari was old, cold and covered in very sour batter. The king prawns, all six of them, resembled shriveled shrimps more likely to have come from a frozen bag and were drenched in mayo. At this point, I was hoping the main dish would be less of a disaster but was sorely disappointed when my shish kebab arrived tasting like something you would order in a ten dollar corner kebab shop after a late night. This unfortunately was not what I expected to experience tonight and will not be returning again.

A group of us went to Troy on Friday night. It was a smaller group than originally booked so we decided to ask the waiter if we could move the tables apart and sit at one table (there was plenty of room to do this). He didn’t have to help us but we thought we better let them know what we were doing and also then they could use the other table for other customers.

My friend went to the other side of the restaurant to tell him and see if he wanted to assist us and he grumbled and said he didn’t really want to, and also why couldn’t the waiter who was standing there with us help? He was actually pointing at me – a customer – ( I happened to have a black top on similar to waiters I guess). He finally came over and helped us pull the tables apart, all the while grumbling under his breath about it.

Our mains took well over an hour to be served and when they arrived they were extremely average – some meat, a bit of rice and some limp salad. During the time we were there it was difficult to get a waiter to come over and help us with anything including refilling waters.

The only thing I can say about the place is that it is BYO and in Ponsonby and with the discount cards it was reasonably priced but I really do not recommend going there. The service was so bad we were just laughing by the end of it, as what else do you do?

Food was ok, I ordered Seafood Fettuccine and it was nice. My partner’s steak.. just average. Chocolate cake was yum.

Friendly staff but only one waitress was on duty on Saturday night.

This place was terrible, it was so bad that we cancelled our mains when we saw the state of our entrees. We didn’t even eat much of the entree, begrudgingly paid for it then left.

The gimmicky decorations and the location are all this restaurant has going for itself.

The menu was so over priced for the small and lack lustre meals we received.

The king prawn entree was disappointing, as the prawns were terribly smaller than what we expected and the dish was definitely not worth $15.

My steak kebab meal had very chewy meat and the side salad was boring, unimaginative and cheap.

Wouldn’t come back. Go to your local kebab shop, at least they know how to cook a decent feed.

food is ok. to be honest, i have been to kebab shops serving better food for less than half the price.

the food they serve is overrated, thelocation is good and atmosphere is a gimmicy one which is cool, but really the food was average and way way over priced.

Great atmosphere. Menu has New Zealand, Turkish, & Italian sections so plenty to choose from, and all our meals were very good. The belly dancer that came out later to entertain diners was a highlight!

Would recommend.
