I came here one Saturday for lunch and although the service was just fine the food was not.
I ordered the soup of the day with foccacia bread and my friend ordered the eggs on foccacia with bacon.
My soup arrived and was clearly reheated as it was cold. It tasted like it was from the can of chopped tomatoes with herbs with some diced onion through. And the stale end of a foccacia roll did not impress me.
My friends meal was poached eggs on foccacia (black burnt end of another foccacia roll) with uncooked bacon plonked next to it on the plate. The presentation was pretty bad to be honest.
As this is an underground cafe I thought it would have really high standards. So bit disappointed and won’t be returning in any rush..

I went here when it first opened and it was amazing! Recently however I have been there twice – very disappointing on both occasions.. Rock solid pancakes (which they tried to hide by burying the worst ones at the bottom of the stack), burnt toast, Stale baps, almonds & vanilla “forgotten” to be put in the porridge when these were listed as key ingredients and 40 min waiting time on a very quiet morning. The staff were rude and scruffy on both occasions also! The only redeeming factor was the coffee. Very disappointing experience.

The service was a bit on the rude side, the place looked like it needed a good clean, the coffees were undrinkable (we actually left them on the table! Cold and tasted awful) and the staff looked like they had just rolled out of bed wearing clothes since the day before! I was so disappointed as I usually LOVE Underground Coffee and would have thought that it would have been top notch being the new place in town!
