The Village Co-op is a ‘hole in the wall’ style coffee and ice cream bar.
It’s sits back from the main stretch of St Heliers on Maheke Street.
The bicycle plus sign signals that Village Co-op is open, and if you spot the queue of customers lining up outside, you’ll know you’ve found it.
They hand make their own ice cream right here on site under the brand ‘Joshua’s Ice creams’.
Flavours include Rewa Rewa Honey, Fancy Butterscotch Fudge, Passionfruit Pavlova, Espresso and Caramel Fudge, Lemon Curd, or Strawberry and White Chocolate Truffle, and so on.
The creamy lush ice creams are even more popular here than the delicious coffee – and that’s saying something.
Joshua has a passion for ice cream to rival that of a child. He’s passionate about sourcing all top quality ingredients from New Zealand, and says ‘absolutely nothing is scrimped on.’

One Review for Village Co-Op

Strictly, not a restaurant or cafe as it very sadly only has a couple of seats to enjoy their produce, though the beach is <100m away.
VC have the friendliest staff, their coffee is wonderful – probably slightl improved since switching to Altezzano this year. Their pastries and delicious. And they sell Loaf bread – though you need to get there early as they sell out ASAP on weekends.
