I go here now and then for lunch/ dinner catch ups with old friends.. the drinks are good (hard to screw up, although the art of coffee is well done here).. but the food..MAJOR let down.. I can come here and the food will be great, then a week later come back and its terrible..
a friend and i came in for dinner the other night, i had the pan fried chicken with a frangellico sauce w/ veg.. well the chicken was really nice, the sauce wasn’t. as for the veggies, the carrots were BROWN. the broccoli looked like it came from a freezer bag. my friend had their chocolate cake, it looked good, the first half was good.. until we hit a hard cold patch?.. another let down..
she wasn’t very attendant, quite ditzy really, my drink was empty for 20 minutes before she asked if i wanted another and it took 4 goes asking the waitress for a glass of water..? and i believe after the wait her reply was “Oh hahah i forgot, my bad”, and our meals were virtually finished before she asked if they were okay.. if they weren’t ok, by that point, it would’ve been too late to do anything about it.. the place only had 3 other tables!
I suggest if you want to go here, get a coffee and maybe something simple to eat..

Would have to say… it is not the best place on the Kapiti Coast, but good for a pub meal, and great service!

The Village Inn is my absolute favourite restaurant. I have had the pleasure of dining here several times. The thing that kept me coming back was actually a dish i ordered for dinner over a year ago – Frangelico Chicken. Absolutely amazing. It was a meal that has stuck in my mind ever since i ordered it. I have eaten at many restaurants on the Kapiti Coast and nothing has bettered that dish. Friendly, welcoming staff. Excellent prices to suit all budgets. Was also given Village Inn discount cards which takes 20% off the price of your meal. Have also tried their $10 lunch menu which was great. Really good kids menu at comforting prices. I could sing my praises about the VI for hours. Overall great inviting atmosphere, excellent food. Love It I’m going their for dinner tonight!
