I tried this coffee shop for the first time last week, and thought the lady that served me was really lovely and polite, i also had a great Chai latte! This place is really cute with its own unique character. I find working within the High Court in town i get sick of the same standard boring coffee places as they lack any personality. Will be back for sure!

I’m a regular at Vinyl and having just read the review by the woman in November have to say thats the first negative thing I’ve ever read or heard about Vinyl. The staff are amazing. Always taking the time to say Hi, they remember your coffee preference and the breakfast burrito…my god. Its fantastic. Service in my experience (which is plentiful visiting most days) is excellent. Coffee the best. Food brilliant and I love how light and airy the cafe is with the windows up the side. Ignore the haters guys. You got it 100% right. Thanks for all your hard work day in day out and for creating a positive place to start each day.

Always great, original food and awesome coffee! (the girl at the counter always remembers what I have and I really don’t get the chance to go there that often!)
Food is always quick and the decor is simple and clean.
I only wish it was bigger so we can take bigger groups of friends!
Love the friendly vibe.

Came here with my partner for breakfast what a waste of time. On entering this “cafe” we were greeted by a somewhat frazzled “barista” a woman somehow trying to resemble something out of Miami Ink who was flustered by the two coffees she had to make, when my partner asked if she had a menu she grunted here and take a seat and I’ll be with you later….10mins later she walks over asks us what we wanted we ordered a soy chai, tofu scramble and scrambled eggs….10mins later our chai finally arrives no other customers in the place not too sure what the hold up was maybe milking some soy beans???? 20 mins later….still no other customers our “food” finally arrives there were two “chefs” in the kitchen???? my tofu scramble average but my partners scrambled eggs were runny like a chicken had diarrhoea on the plate it was disgusting it was inedible and had to be literally eaten with a spoon. So I went up to the wannabe Kat Von D with the eggs told her exactly that and she goes yeah I know so I grilled her on it if she knew it was’nt up to standard why serve it to me, no reply and also no attitude funny that, anyway I then asked to speak to the owner who I saw in the kitchen cause he had made the egg porridge but he would’nt come out and hid behind the wall (wtf) so I left without paying for the egg soup and thinking that this place and the staff should spend less time trying to be retro, rock ‘n’ roll tattoed tryhards. By the way my partners a chef and I’m a barista and we’ve collectively been working in hospo for 15years.

In response to your response why so shocked? Take the criticism and be honest. You hid in the kitchen I waited for you, you would’nt come out, you’ve got an open kitchen for gods sake!!! (lol) You shook your head and would’nt come out to see me.
And as for my comments regarding what you looklike, were visual us humans and I’ve got mates in hospo who are highly successful that don’t advertise their tatts cause you know sometimes it’s just a little bit unprofessional, but who cares bout that just take it on the chin just like we had to take your lack of customer service. And yes cause of the length of time I’ve been in hospo I know what customer service is and should be. I’ve worked both in the kitchen aswell as front of house so dude when I go out and spend money I expect it to be money well spent and even the chick that served me the “barista” (lol) agreed about your runny eggs????
As for your loyal clientele it is most probably made up of your friends and friends of friends etc or people that have’nt ordered the scrambled eggs (lol) So dude be a man take the criticism and have’nt you heard of the old adage “the customer is always right” sheeesh pretty damn basic. P.s check your grammar and use spell check next time you want to respond to me cheers lol.

Hi Katherine. Firstly. wow! on your review. I’m sorry that you were unhappy with your visit to vinyl. However there is no need to make unfair and rude comments on my staff or your generalization on us based by our looks. It’s quite sad that you say for a couple…    More »

We ate here for lunch. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The menu had a nice selection of dishes (including vegan options clearly marked, which I appreciate!). The staff was friendly and the atmosphere is nice.
