Wai ariki is a purpose built facility situated on a sheltered 2 acres. Animals are displayed in a clean, tranquil environment where people can touch and hand feed the animals. Wai ariki encourages a hands-on experience with the animals which will charm adults and children alike. Animals to see include Red/Wapiti deer, Highland cattle, Nubian & Angora goats, emus, donkeys, various breeds of sheep, Tibetan yak, alpacas & llamas, rabbits, ducks, chooks and more!

Farm Shows are available, and can be booked by prior arrangement for groups. We also cater for School visits, providing an interesting and informative experience for your students.

The vibrant cafe offers a range of teas, great organic coffee and delicious food. Lunch can be enjoyed inside the cafe with its own unique ambience, or on a warm day, relax with a coffee on the wide decks and watch the children interact with the animals nearby.

The Gallery, also included in the facility, carries a range of funky fabrics, patterns, haberdashery, local art and handmade NZ gifts – a real treat for the crafty girls!
