This cafe sells the best ice creams on this side of Coromandel coast (as proven by the fact that people will even call in for their favourite cones in winter!) They also do nice coffees (and you get a complimentary mini chocolate fish with your hot drink – nice touch!) and a very yummy chicken and red onion pizza. We have been there on four separate occasions and the service is always 10 star friendly! Smallish but cosy indoor and outdoor seating areas with the option of wandering over the road to the beach-front reserve if you prefer. Actually I was going to go with four stars but I’m suddenly remembering the cakes slices we purchased on our way home this last trip – chocolate/baileys I think mine was and a citrus slice for my Hubby. So, so good I’ve added the fifth star to my rating! I also have to add that if you need a pit stop this is a great place to make one, very clean and well presented bathroom area and the toilet seat will provide a conversation piece for the next part of your journey.

During my last days in NZ, i discovered this beautiful located and friendly managed cafe.
First i had two flat white and i started to go on direction aukland, but back on the road, after a view minutes i decided to stay overnight on the opposite of the street.
The day ends with a couple of beers and a delicious dinner. All the best for Julie and her mates.

As a kiwi living in the States I have developed a new appreciation for Kiwiana and all that it epitomises. This cafe is uniquely kiwi with great service, variety and a beautiful native garden with scuptures next-door to relax in, whilst looking at the beautiful Coromandel coast. We loved taking a coffee-break there!
