We often stop at the Waterside in Taupo, mostly because you get a great view of the lake and watch the world go by. I have always enjoyed my meals and wine and will definitely go back

Delightful little restaurant right on the corner overlooking the lake, such a pretty view especially when dining at around sunset time. I have dined here both in summer and winter, enjoying the grand open windows in summer and the warm fireplace in winter. The menu is pretty standard but V tasty! The staff are amazing! Service is top quality and the staff all look very tidy. The wine list and cocktail menus are scrumptious!

We went to this restaurant for lunch on Saturday and Sunday over Easter. The staff were fantastic and the food superb. I had the Asian salad the first time and the Chicken salad the next day. My partner had the same hash both days it was so good. The views are fantastic as well. We will be back!

I go to Taupo every May & always have lunch here at least once during my stay. Beautiful outlook,friendly staff, fast service & tasty food. It’s always nice & warm inside & I’ve always been greeted with a smile. It is definitely one of my favourite places in Taupo. See you in May!!

Had meal here, was very disappointing, had chicken wrapped in bacon with potato bake, plate was full of grease and no sauce for the chicken which made it very bland. Daughter had pizza from the kids menu which was a frozen supermarket mini pizza, other two daughters had chicken tenders which were also very much like the frozen supermarket ones. Service was very good and quick with our meals. Was also very expensive for the for the quality of food. Won’t be back here again.

Definitely the best Restaurant in Taupo! I was there a lot of times and I always had an amazing evening. The variation of the food is awesome. My favourite is the Lamb Rack! It is perfectly cooked and the potato and caramelised onion bake, with a vegetable ratatouille and minted jus suits perfect!I would highly recommend the Restaruant as you get a good value of food for a super price. The staff is absolutely lovely and professional. I will be certainly back.

Great service, seemed very professional but the food was terrible. Duck was tasty but very dry, the caramelised onions were raw on the inside and cremated (burnt) on the outside, horseradish mash was too overpowering with horseradish, steak was not cooked medium rare, it was way too overcooked. The gravy/sauce tasted like Bisto gravy, all the sauces seemed to have come out of a bottle didn’t seem like they were made from scratch. Didn’t expect the kids fish to be frozen crumbed fish, would have expected battered fish pieces. Pasta had an awful overpowering hickory taste to it. Found the food way too overpriced for the quality. Overall a very disappointing meal all round. Perhaps they just had an off night but we certainly wont be back.

Great range of meals that are absolutely delicious. Whether you love the fancy stuff or want some good comfort food it has something for you. I had an eye fillet and my boyfriend had the fish and chips both were very delicious. The service was very professional and efficient we were well looked after. Also a wonderful variety in the drinks menu. We are planning to come back when there is a winter sunset to take full advantage of the gorgeous view.

Fabulous food, great taste, texture and not at all greasy. We will definitely be back when next in Taupo. Great staff and even fill up your wine glass…lol. Well worth the money. Thanks guys

This restaurant has the best view in Taupo and a menu that constantly changes but always has a beautiful range of meals to suit.
A very pleasant place to have a drink at the bar or just a dessert with staff that are always very friendly.
