In general the food was OK. However the service by the Maitre d’ was appalling. I don’t think I have ever had such rude service anywhere ever and the group of 12 I was with were completely gobsmacked at the attitude and behaviour of this particular person.

I will not be going back to this place unless there is a change in Maitre d’.

Did not have a very good experience with this restaurant. Food was well presented and cooked, but very slow – waited over 45 mins. Service was not great, with long wait times to have the orders taken or plates cleared. Basics were not done – such as water on the table, or cutlery to eat items. When I posted my experience in a review on another site I got a reasonably rude phone call from the operations manager of this place who didn’t really make any attempt to apologise for the event, wanted to know if I was the only one in our party who didn’t enjoy the dinner and told me that she was concerned that people may read the review and not think favourably of them. I was essentially told off by this person for writing my comments as it went to the “CEO” of the company, and I was told she was disappointed that I had written a review. I doubt I will be back here, and would encourage others to think carefully about dining here, or at least writing an honest review.

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday and the place was amazing. Loved the waterfall and the warm pub style restaurant. The chicken dish I had was nice and my boyfriend loved his steak

Knowing about the famous waterfall and sound effects of the West Coast inside the restaurant I decided to book a table for two requesting a view to the waterfall. I was told the only table available beside the waterfall was a table for four and as I was booking a table for only two people they couldn’t guarantee us that table but told me they would do their absolute best to give it to us. Sure enough when we got there the table was already occupied – by one person! So we got given a table which was directly behind the waterfall (a big stone wall) and so couldn’t see anything of the waterfall. I didn’t think what they meant by “we’ll do our best” was actually “we’ll accept the first person that walks in and seat them at the table for four with the best view”. Never mind, I tried to put that behind me. After being seated me and my wife ordered but they got the order wrong no less than 3 times. My wife ordered a raspberry and coke drink with no ice, and it arrived with ice. Simple mistake, but one that happens nearly every time she requests no ice! I ordered the Whitebait Butty as a main but it arrived as an entre! And my wife ordered the fish of the day with fries instead of salad, and it arrived with salad instead of fries! When I asked why there were so many mistakes, they said “we have a new chef on tonight”. That’s just no excuse when paying $80-$100 for a dinner for two. Even when we asked the waitress what the salad was made up of she didn’t even know, so points off for lack of staff training as well. The food was ok, not fantastic, but good enough. But the whole night was practically ruined by the fiasco of errors that following from the moment we walked in.

If you are after a “pub meal” with a bit of style, this is a great place to go. Reasonable prices, excellent service with a smile and pretty good food. The place has an interesting atmosphere with it’s waterfall and sound effects of the wild West Coast. The only down side is perhaps the meals took a tad long (45mins) to come out given that they weren’t hugely busy, but not unreasonably so. We’ll be back here again.

Service was very slow for our Sunday brunch, but then most of the tables around us were asking after their meals also. When we politely asked the manager, she said ‘it has been only 25 minutes’ (and this just for a straightforward breakfast). When our meals arrived after 45 minutes, not everything was on the plate, such as butter was on my partner’s plate but not mine (so he gave me his), and the food was not very warm. We’d long ago drunk the coffee we’d ordered for our meals, and were ignored when we asked (again, politely) for a complimentary refill (to go with our late food). Never again.

2 star rating = Meh, definately experienced better…
Restaurant was empty apart from 2 tables the whole time we were there, (long enough for a game of rugby) but were told it was not possible to have a table to dine,(understand there may have been later bookings HOWEVER we could have ate and left in time) nor could we order off the main menu if we didn’t have a table. I don’t understand why this could be an issue, but we opted for fries and garlic bread instead however were disappointed that the garlic bread was doughy and underdone.
Hopefully you guys can get it right next time

We have just returned home after a lovely time at West Coast Bar and Grill.

The adults meals my husband and I had weren’t quite to our liking but the service and all the other food was so fantastic we’ll definitely be back to “try again”.

I wish I got the name of our waitress because whatever she’s being paid it is not enough. She was amazing, so friendly and chirpy but not in an annoy way. She was great with the children and the free birthday sundae made my nephew’s day. I truly have not had service that good in a very very long time.

To the blonde haired woman who served the table reserved for Paul at 6.30pm tonight – YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!!

Went for dinner, was excellent service. The small where on the small size for the price and a little slower then I would expect to come out, glad I had coupon from entertainment book, would not go back with out. Waterfall in the middle of restaurant great, a little put off by the helicopter noises and gun shots… Partner complained as did not have any wild food as he expected, not whitebait and only fish was fish of the day and mussels.
