We’ve had several after-work drink functions here and personally have always really enjoyed the wine loft. It’s setting is intimate and cosy, the wine list is brilliant and the plattered food we had was very good. Sounds like the other diner happened to land on an off day, which compelled me to write as when I saw a one star review for Wine Loft I could not let it sit! It’s a perfect place to meet friends over some wines in a relaxed atmosphere. Service has always been prompt and friendly.

Went to The Wine Loft for lunch yesterday and it was one of the worst lunch experiences I’ve had for a long time. Started off OK with the more senior waiter offering good knowledge of the wine list and was happy to provide us with an icebucket when we requested it (surprised it wasn’t offered though as we were sitting at a very sunny table). The service (or lack thereof) went down hill from this though. Only another couple of tables occupied, but still had to wave out to get the waiter’s attention as the two guys working seemed much more interested in each other than the few diners present. Ordered The Wine Loft special platter ($42) and although adequate, was really just an assortment of “bought in” antipasto bits and pieces with three thin slices of rare beef (which they probably cooked) and three sticks of grilled prawns which I’m sure were straight from the freezer. When our wine was finished and placed upside down in the bucket, we still had to try to catch their attention for another one, which was placed in the same icebucket and although one of our glasses was empty, there was no offer to fill it. At one stage the waiter attempted to clear our platter when it was obvious, had be been paying attention, that we were still eating. When we went to pay the bill and use the Entertainment Card, we were told, in a very offhand way, that he couldn’t divide it in half if we used the card – the senior waiter was called and was just as offhand and rude. My advice – give this place a wide berth!

First off I would like to thank you for choosing to visit Wine Loft.
Secondly I would like to sincerely apologise for our failure in not meeting your expectations.
We really do appreciate your feedback. Without this we could never move forward and correct…
