Went for dinner with extended family. Good service. Meals were very tasty but portions were small and over priced. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back.

We often pop in here for brunch and coffee on the weekend but decided to try it out for dinner after a movie.
It was quite busy and the wine bar area was packed (I think it was their quiz night) so it was quite noisy.
My hubby had the lamb and I had fish for our mains, we both had entrees- him salmon and myself pork belly and shared a molten chocolate pudding for dessert.
All three courses were great- really different from the daytime menu but still fresh and interesting, loads of color on the plate and interesting veges as well as the proteins.
We really enjoyed it and will definately go back in the evening

Went for lunch today as a colleague had recommended it- the place was really busy but we were seated in the Wine Bar area by a lovely Italian lady.
Ordered the kingfish special and my partner had the chicken schnitzel, both were great but the fish was amazing. Good strong coffee and great service, in and out in under an hour- we will definitely be back

I love this place. Friendly staff. Great food. In my neighbourhood – love supporting my local and dine here regularly. BEST DONUTS IN THE WORLD! The food here is consistently good. I especially recommend the wagu beef burgers with hand cut fries. I also recommend Zinc’s Quiz Nights. I meet my mates at Zinc for a few beers to compete in their Quiz. (Also – have to mention the bar menu, especially the Pork Sliders – YUM!)

What a find this place was – so not what I was expecting for it’s location in the suburbs. Zinc was clean and well presented. The staff were friendly. There were lots of upcoming events being promoted via window posters. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were knowlegable about suitable wine matches for our meals. I chose the lamb – best lamb EVER!!! My dinner companion chose a fish special off the specials board (so impressed that Zinc’s fish is line caught and sustainable! – again knowledgable staff. So impressed) Recommend, recommend, recommend.

Recently had a fantastic meal here on a Saturday night with a friend. The food was fantastic, wait staff were awesome and wines were perfect match for meal.
My only gripe is the acoustics, very loud, it was very hard to hear and I could not even hear the waitress explain the specials and had to ask my companion what she had said ( I do not have a hearing problem by the way).
We will definately be back and have highly recommended it to friends. SOOOO glad we found you Zinc!!

I visited this restaurant on Mothers Day, 13th May 2012.
We were extremely disappointed, were rushed upon arrival to order ( clearly wanting us in and out a.s.a.p ) The waitress did not even point out the blackboard specials. The food was very average, extremely disappointing. A side salad consisting of only cos lettuce with a few micro greens on top !
We decided to leave without even a coffee. I would not reccommend ..need to up their game !

This restaurant is not only over priced but also cold and dark, food was under average and not very appealing and I could have gone to the supermarket and paid half the price. A bit off a rip off really, maybe in Wellinton you would pay that price but this is Hamilton… Trying too hard I think….

Service was only fair, and the soup I ordered for lunch was unappealing- there were chunks of underdone potato with a gluey broth. The coffee was above average.

I dined here on Mothers Day with my wife and 3 children. They had excellent food options for young kids and provided colouring sheets for the kids while they waited for their meals, which we didn’t expect. My wife and I both ordered a Roast Beef Special for Mothers Day which was delicious and generous portions – could have done with a wee bit more gravy though. We were served quickly – our meals came out really fast. We enjoyed sitting outside under the beautiful trees. An over-all great experience. No wonder everyone talks about this place!

I like this restaurant because it is different from all the others in Hamilton I have tried. I’m from out of town and was taken here by a friend and ended up going twice I liked it so much. The food was so fresh and as a vegetarian there were a number of things that could be adapted for me to eat. If I had to be really fussy – perhaps another couple of salads could be added to the menu – but really its not necessary. I’d prefer less to choose from and really fresh food ANY DAY! I really enjoyed speaking to the owner who was on the floor at the time and I admire their dedication to their philosophy of fresh, local food. Thats what makes this restaurant stand out. Keep it up guys – I’ll be back.

Came to Zinc for lunch, found it to be ridiculously over priced for very bland food. Could have gone to the supermarket and produced the same meal for a fraction of the price. Friendly service though.

My husband and I eat at Zinc regulary. We feel very spoilt to have such a great restaurant in our neighbourhood. Zinc punches well above its weight with quality, locally sourced ingredients = delicious food made to order (not prepared earlier and re-heated). I notice that they change their look regulary and they organise really cool events which we love attending. The last one I went to was a “Beef and Burgundy” night with 5 beef courses matched with wine for $110! Awesome value. If I could offer one criticism it would have to be that I wish they served a little counter food in addition to their delicious cakes and slices. Sometimes when I drop in for a coffee I feel like a sandwich, not something I need to order off the menu. They owners look to be really young – I wish them well for taking the risk and setting up their own business. They’re doing a great job!

Visited Zinc for breakfast. The restaurant was very clean and tidy, and we were welcomed by the waitress as soon as we entered the cafe. Service was prompt, friendly and genuine. I had the muesli with a flat white. The portion size was sufficient and it tasted great!

We went to Zinc Wine Bar on a Friday for drinks and had their tasting Board which was great- really good service and it was really busy.
saw they had live jazz on that Sunday and came back for that- awesome out under the trees, we were lucky to nab a seat as it was packed- obviously popular and I we could see why.

We often go to Zinc and most times have absolutely no problems with food or service. Sometimes service can be slow even when there are limited people but food makes up for it. Surroundings may be a bit bland and dinners a bit pricey but again, food makes up for it! Great coffee too!

My Zinc experience was surprising. I had heard much about it in the form of rave reviews from friends and family. However, while the food was very nice, I found the portions and price very pretentious. I was served juice well passed it’s expiry date, with mould around the neck of the bottle; but while our waitress was nice, and the food served promptly, the atmosphere of the place was lack lustre and sterile.
