This restaurant is not only over priced but also cold and dark, food was under average and not very appealing and I could have gone to the supermarket and paid half the price. A bit off a rip off really, maybe in Wellinton you would pay that price but this is Hamilton… Trying too hard I think….

Service was only fair, and the soup I ordered for lunch was unappealing- there were chunks of underdone potato with a gluey broth. The coffee was above average.

I dined here on Mothers Day with my wife and 3 children. They had excellent food options for young kids and provided colouring sheets for the kids while they waited for their meals, which we didn’t expect. My wife and I both ordered a Roast Beef Special for Mothers Day which was delicious and generous portions – could have done with a wee bit more gravy though. We were served quickly – our meals came out really fast. We enjoyed sitting outside under the beautiful trees. An over-all great experience. No wonder everyone talks about this place!

I like this restaurant because it is different from all the others in Hamilton I have tried. I’m from out of town and was taken here by a friend and ended up going twice I liked it so much. The food was so fresh and as a vegetarian there were a number of things that could be adapted for me to eat. If I had to be really fussy – perhaps another couple of salads could be added to the menu – but really its not necessary. I’d prefer less to choose from and really fresh food ANY DAY! I really enjoyed speaking to the owner who was on the floor at the time and I admire their dedication to their philosophy of fresh, local food. Thats what makes this restaurant stand out. Keep it up guys – I’ll be back.

Came to Zinc for lunch, found it to be ridiculously over priced for very bland food. Could have gone to the supermarket and produced the same meal for a fraction of the price. Friendly service though.

My husband and I eat at Zinc regulary. We feel very spoilt to have such a great restaurant in our neighbourhood. Zinc punches well above its weight with quality, locally sourced ingredients = delicious food made to order (not prepared earlier and re-heated). I notice that they change their look regulary and they organise really cool events which we love attending. The last one I went to was a “Beef and Burgundy” night with 5 beef courses matched with wine for $110! Awesome value. If I could offer one criticism it would have to be that I wish they served a little counter food in addition to their delicious cakes and slices. Sometimes when I drop in for a coffee I feel like a sandwich, not something I need to order off the menu. They owners look to be really young – I wish them well for taking the risk and setting up their own business. They’re doing a great job!

Visited Zinc for breakfast. The restaurant was very clean and tidy, and we were welcomed by the waitress as soon as we entered the cafe. Service was prompt, friendly and genuine. I had the muesli with a flat white. The portion size was sufficient and it tasted great!

We went to Zinc Wine Bar on a Friday for drinks and had their tasting Board which was great- really good service and it was really busy.
saw they had live jazz on that Sunday and came back for that- awesome out under the trees, we were lucky to nab a seat as it was packed- obviously popular and I we could see why.

We often go to Zinc and most times have absolutely no problems with food or service. Sometimes service can be slow even when there are limited people but food makes up for it. Surroundings may be a bit bland and dinners a bit pricey but again, food makes up for it! Great coffee too!

My Zinc experience was surprising. I had heard much about it in the form of rave reviews from friends and family. However, while the food was very nice, I found the portions and price very pretentious. I was served juice well passed it’s expiry date, with mould around the neck of the bottle; but while our waitress was nice, and the food served promptly, the atmosphere of the place was lack lustre and sterile.
