I was looking forward to go to this place. Nice staff, nice building but bad food. My hash brown were uncooked and the coffee took for ever. I sent the food back because it was just horrible but the wait staff was nice and apologised. Expensive for what it is and the biggest selling point is the building rather than the food. No going back!!

Was offered free coffee with coffee bag purchase. Asked for another free coffee with second bag purchase. Three staff, looked at me as if I was crazy. How rude! Never going back. Telling all my friends.

Everything a modern cafe should be, light, airy, free-parking, free-WIFI all along with welcoming service and great coffee. All the standard stuff done well. We were only there for breakfast but will be heading back to to try the lunch menu. Well worth a stop.

Shaky Isles is a corporate cafe – owned by the same investment group behind the Mac’s Brew Bars. Bad taste in the mouth already, right? Well, the taste got worse when I ordered their vegetarian big breakfast. Or rather, the taste vanished altogether. The blandness was overwhelming. Mushrooms cooked with nothing. A huge pile of beans with not even a cursory application of salt to flavour them. It was depressing! I’d give them one star, but the coffee is okay. The music, on the other hand, was so obnoxious we left early. Not recommended.

Service is extremely slow, but staff seem to appear friendly. I eat out a lot, and cannot believe how bland the food tastes! no flavour and way to over priced for what it is. I am definitely not going back for the food, maybe for a coffee but wasn’t that impressed overall.

Wow we finally found the best Italian restaurante in Auckland! We had a great experience last night eating at Covo, downtown. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, with a singing Italian accent that makes you smile (we are French, we missed it!) and a great sense of service. We had bruschetta as a starter, very simple meal regarding the ingredients but yet excellent and perfect balanced in taste. Then we had the risotto of the day which was one of the most amazing we have ever had (mushrooms and Gorgonzola)! And the Johnny pizza, prosciutto, mozzarella and rocket, really good as well. With a glass of Chianti, mmmm. We couldn’t help taking the Tiramisu which is THE ultimate Italian dessert, and this one was excellent. The service was quick and the prices enjoyable, especially regarding the quality of the meal and the quantity you have in your plates. Just one thing to know: one should always book as the restaurant is really small, but that’s also part of the charm! Not used to put review on restaurant but this one really deserves its 5 stars!

One of my favorite cares. Lovely home cooked food, and satisfying mugs of coffee. Feel like I am in my Nan’s lounge with a bunch of new friends every time I go. Very comfortable and homely….toys for the young ones too. Love it!

My friend Simon raved about you guys when we were talking about where to meet up in Onehunga in early-2011 and he wasn’t wrong! What’s great about Cafe Tran? - always excellent, fast and friendly service - beautifully strong and piping hot hot chocolates with the cutest decorations on top (I’m not a coffee drinker) - fresh and delicious healthy food choices along with yummy naughty treats ==> My only choice for cafe eating whenever I’m in Onehunga, nom, nom, nom…
