Mecca is my ultimate meeting place I go there on a regular basis. I meet friends and I also have business meetings there quiet often. Great location, good food and the service is good. Although, the staff turnover is high, they friendly and they look after you. There is one disappointing thing lately what makes me not wanting to go back is a person a manager or somewhat walking around the place, his rather rude and not helpful at all. I just had a complaint from one of my clients who went to Mecca after one of our meeting as I recommended the place and he had a same disappoint experience with the arrogant manager. Unprofessional and I don’t think he knows what his duty is as his just walking around trying to look busy but he doesn’t really find his place. Annoying and makes you feel uncomfortable.

I hate writing a bad review when the staff are actually friendly people – makes me feel terrible – so I’ll start with the two positives:
The staff were friendly and attentive AND the location is lovely.
Unfortunately that is where it all stops for me. I am a lover of fresh, flavourful food that pushes boundaries and surprises me… not everywhere has to ‘blow me away’ completely but with the likes of the latest Auckland restaurants that have come out of nowhere and found spots in the Top 50 lists, places like Limon just fail epically when it comes to quality…
We bought the ‘all you can eat tapas’ voucher recently advertised, and although the price wasn’t that steep the food was well below average.
Absolutely every plate that came out tasted like it was made days before then simply warmed up and literally all looked like less-than-supermarket-quality… The meatballs were dry and flavourless with a tasteless yellow sauce on them – looked like they were bought at a supermarket??? no seasoning or herbs or ANYTHING in them, the bread with hummus had a dry crust on it suggesting it had been sitting for ages, the Spanish tomato bread was soggy (obviously not made fresh as the tomato had been sitting on it for ages to make it that soggy), the prunes wrapped in Serrano ham were just a prune with an almond left whole inside (I mean someone I know makes AMAZING bacon wrapped prunes at home that have tenbillion times more flavour than these?!?!), the stuffed peppers were supposed to be stuffed with feta but it was tasteless and on pulling some of the feta out it was yellow and old, compared to the feta that came with the olives, the chicken drumsticks were dry and covered in what appeared to be shop bought sweet thai chilli sauce.
The only good parts with the domaldes (although still required much more seasoning), the olives and the squid rings.
I would seriously never go back here. I’m sorely disappointed especially given the staff were friendly. Sorry Limon 
perhaps you need to take some inspiration from somewhere like La Zeppa where the tapas are beautiful, fresh and PACKED with flavour. You have such a great location you could do so much!!!

Cafe Midnight Express has become my second home. Whether its for coffee with a touch of what has to be the best Turkish delight ever, or a full dinner, I just can’t stop coming back. Food quality is consistently high, offering a wide range of relatively simple, but very healthy dishes. As a central city resident, I frequent many eateries in Auckland City. It is no exaggeration to say that Cafe Midnight Express wait staff are amongst the best Auckland has to offer. Sure it can get busy, its a very popular place to catch up with friends and family in the central city. So if you choose a busy time, don’t forget to book! Give yourself the time to sit back, relax and enjoy the Middle Eastern experience that only the team at Cafe Midnight Express can deliver.

I haven’t tasted a CALAMARI as divine as the one I ate at Andres Restaurant 149 Parnell Road, Parnell. I recommend to everyone who enjoys Spanish, Italian, and French cuisine. Come and have your taste buds go to heaven.

We had a terrific experience at Pescado. Wonderful service (which is rare in New Zealand), delicious food with generous portions means good value for money; lovely atmosphere. All of this despite it being a very busy Sunday brunch. We were impressed enough to speak to the management and give them our thanks. It’s odd that the reviews here are either very positive or very negative. Perhaps they had a change in management? -2012 May

We were so looking forwarded to going to Bordums as we used to go to the New Market one all the time. But what a BIG disappointment. The place was cold and had no Turkish feel to it. The food was awful and the pita bread was not fresh. The services was slow, I would not recommend that you go. O stars

While it appeared to be a busy little restaurant I really couldn’t understand why. Flat coke despite it coming from a can (not stored in fridge) can was under counter and wondering if it was left overs from night before. Asked for another, still flat. Duck overcooked, fettuccine made better at home, pork belly not actually belly according to my butcher husband but another part of the pig, and was a little tough. Asked 3 times in space of 5 mins if happy with meal, then waitress starts to clear our plates while we were in deep conversation both of us still eating and cutlery left open on plate. To top it off, husband pays, sits back down to wait while I go to loo, leaving my jacket on chair. I return 2 mins later to find husband pushed out by staff who removed my jacket and another couple sitting down despite other tables being available. Sorry won’t be returning, can think of several reasons y not to not return to the y not bar.

hey thanks guys for giving such a good atmosphere as a perfect fine dining i went to this restaurant the food was very aussum and service was very quick i would like to come again the drinks was realy nice as it supposssed to be .this restaurant is having a properr host resposibilty i had a doner kebab its was the best ever doner i have ever had cheers

Went to Coco’s Cantina thanks to references from friends and noting it won an award in the Metro Top 50 restaurants, and was pleasantly satisfied. The table wait wasn’t too bad although we got there early. The food was great and the service fantastic. We had the platter to start which was ample and tasty, and I had the steak for main (as usual) – it was cooked blue to my liking and had a great flavour. They allowed me to swap out my potatoes, and instead of giving me something bore-factor they gave me roast carrots and beets – so yummy! Would definitely go back. Not too pricey either.

We had a terrific dinner two weeks ago. The $30 special was a really good deal – the 6 of us chose a variety of starters and desserts to share, and all were delicious. We all had different mains and were thoroughly pleased with our selections. Would definitely return, and in fact am taking my workmates there shortly.

Mothers Day lunch – was there with my Mum and 2 Sisters – it was the busiest day for them and they performed to the max – there was a little wait for the food which is to be expected on such a busy day – we just ordered the divine onion bread to tide us over – having been many times the food stood up to our expectations and the staff warm and friendly – so well done guys – we will be back as you know! and thanks again for making our Mum’s Day Pauline

Four of us Made the mistake of going here last night (Sunday). We arrived at 6 and it wasn’t THAT busy. We had a show to get to at 7 so decided to grab something quick. Firstly when we arrived our greeting wasn’t very welcoming – as though we were being a bother! We promptly ordered our drinks and our meals. Since my wife and I had just been to a large late mothers day lunch she just ordered the Turkish bread and I ordered the holumi starter. Our friends ordered mains. When our drinks arrived the Mojito apparently tasted like they forgot to put any alcohol in it! Half an hour later asked where our meals were (bear in mind 1 meal was bread and another was a starter) we were told 5 minutes. 15 minutes later our food arrived. One of our party didn’t end up with the correct order! We couldn’t do much as our show started in 15 minutes. The food was great, how ever when I took my last mouthful of beer as we went to to leave I felt something in my mouth – I spat out a plastic mint wrapper!! When we went to pay my friend advised that she was given the wrong meal the waitress just said “so do you want to pay for the one you ordered, or the one you got?” considering what she ordered was a main and she ended up with a starter, what do you think?? When I put the wrapper on the counter and said this was in my beer glass, her response was “o that’s not very good…. That will be $30….” Will NEVER be back again!

Very disappointing breakfast. Lovely location, alright service but food was terrible. Warmed up cheap thinly sliced ham is not bacon! Soggy pale coloured bread is not french toast! We visited on a very busy day but this is no excuse to serve poorly put together food. Coffee was hot and good

Had the bucket of garlic prawns. The prawns arrived and were amazing to look st. Fat, juicy and fresh. Unfortunately i was put off as they were not deveinec and there was hardly any garlic in the butter sauce.

Lovely food but kinda strange customer service. We chose to sit in a booth (because the ‘table for twos’ were so intrusive ) and were told ‘this is a table for 4, you will have to move if it gets busier’ – made us on edge all meal. Tiny little tables with no room for papers are not great for weekend brunch so they need to relax a bit. Nice food tho.

Oh dear, this cafe has changed hands recently and the service has dropped dramatically. Same amount of staff but they seem unable to run as before. We and the tables around us waited far too long to have our order taken and we saw 2 meals being returned to the kitchen. What a shame this place used to be great.

It was a very rainy night, and I popped into the cosy C.A.C., For some dessert and a cup of tea with my friend. The staff were excellent. A very welcoming waitress and other staff were all fantastic. Upstairs the ambience was excellent. I had the RICOTTA FRITTERS w. rhubarb & raspberry preserve for 11 dollars. The flavours were lovely.

My husband and I have been going to Annabelles Restraunt for several years, and we have never been disappointed. The meals are very inexpensive considering the excellent quality – the view overlooking the waterfront is lovely…we prebook the window seat…. and the staff (all of them!) have always treated us in a warm and personal manner. I have no hesitation in reccomending this restaurant – and I’m just about to book it now for my Mother’s Day treat!
