Came here with a voucher for 2 mains and 2 wines. Bit disappointed to find out that my partner and I were not allowed to swap our wines with soft drinks, as we both did not drink alcohol at all! Surely the soft drinks would have been cheaper for them….?? Made it feel like the voucher was a bit wasted. On the plus side, the curry was a decent size and nice and creamy and the pad thai was good as well. The decor was quite night nice with a little waterfall and plants around the dining area.

Fantastic food!We just bought a grab one voucher and thought we would try once. But we are very certain that we will always go there. They use very fresh vegetable. You can feel the freshness. It’s totally different to a typical Chinese takeaway. The food is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!Very friendly staff and a great service.

Went there for a grabone deal I bought last night, its just down the road from Kingsland next to Morningside railway station. Being a Kingslander I never knew it was there but it is new and I do drive around in a daze.
Food was surprising good quality, at first I thought it may be like one of those noodle fanchises but no fear, the food is light years ahead of those.
I like curries especially at this cold time of year, I never had one like it. The beef was melt in your mouth and the portion size was literally double what you get elsewhere and for only $13. We ordered 1 mussaman curry and 2 rice and it fed both of us along with a serving of satay skewers which were also large. None of this 2-3 thin pieces of flattened out chicken but the actual whole tenderloin.
An added bonus is that we like our food very hot and virtually all restaurants never make it hot enough for us. The chef actually showed us how much chili she was going to put in and that was 2 heaped teaspoons of fresh cut chili which for the very first time ever was at the right level of spiciness that my wife and I love. No having to add extra at home. Thanks for that 
A much needed addition to the Kingsland area in terms of Asian takeaways and at fantastic prices. Go !!!

I regret that I didn’t read the reviews for this restaurant before purchasing my Grab One voucher! The experience started off badly and continued. I emailed as requested to book a table for myself and my partner but 24 hrs later still hadn’t received a reply. I phoned and the female who answered the phone was quite abrupt, refused to book the table for me and asked me to book on a different email address. Eventually they confirmed my booking by text message. Two days later we went for dinner, the waiter was obviously new and very inexperienced. We ordered the mixed starters which arrived promptly and were quite tasty. We waited over half an hour for our main courses, we then realised they had been served to the neighboring table and the customers there poked and prodded the dishes for several minutes before asking the waiter if they were their order or not. To our astonishment the waiter then transferred the dishes onto our table, we then complained and the dishes returned to the kitchen. When we did eventually get to eat our food the curry was a thick gloopy consistency, pretty tasteless. The other dishes were no better. The service was miserable and the staff seemed more interested in getting the takeaway orders out on time than giving any attention to their diners. We have eaten in many Thai restaurants all around the world and we would consider this to be the worst Thai meal we have ever had. We would never recommend this restaurant to anyone! Zero stars should be awarded!

Have been here many times over the past few years and thoroughly recommend it. Went again last week probably 6 months since my last visit with a group of old mates – this is the best way to enjoy it because you can order a wide range of dishes. The service is really assured – the staff seem to know exactly how to fit in with the mood of your group and they enhance the experience really well. Oh…and make sure you have a pitcher of Tiger beer for the table…sensational. The way you can mix up your dishes from a range of regions is great – really recommend the firecracker chicken, beef rendang and the roti breads are just exceptional. Great fun for a night out with friends.

My first dining experience at Jungle Flavour and I wasn’t disappointed. With so many ethnic eateries to choose from in Auckland these days, it is the little gestures and tokens of service that set this restaurant apart. - the staff were attentive for a busy Friday night and water was serve almost immediately when we were seated - the interior deco and tables were impressive with lovely placemats and proper napkins and Thai cutlery - the warm hand towels served when we were first seated is a real bonus not normally offered in other Thai restaurant of this category We even dined on a discount voucher and the set menu we were offered was generous. The entrees were delightful and both our main courses were substantial portions. At no point were we regarded as non “full” paying patrons. Staff were friendly throughout and explained nicely about the additional cost for seafood and duck mains. My wife did ordered a fish main but a waitress did apologize later that the kitchen had run out so we replaced it with a Larb which was still very good. Overall, a great meal.

Great Food & Speedy service.! A very busy place so the high turnover = really fresh food)…I have lunch here at least once a week if you’re odd like me & don’t eat spicy food (haha) you can’t go wrong w ‘Gai Tod’ (krispy chicken nibbles) & ‘Pad Pak Rom’ (veges w tofu on rice) a plain vege meal but perfect w the nibbles (& ideal for two to share at lunch time)

Terrible ! No one got back to us so we never had a reservation. We rang and rang… the phone seemed to be off the hook. We rang again but this time no one picked up. Then we emailed and no one answered. What do you think the rating will be !!

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Auckland. We regularly go here for delicious, well priced food, and on a lazy night enjoy the discounted takeaway menu. The restaurant owners are lovely, and try so hard to make each visit enjoyable. Really good food, at a great price – I feel some other reviewers are being too harsh, for the cost it’s a fabulous dining experience.

Food quality is very good. The environment is very nice. This is a high class Thai restaurant. We found the service slow but friendly. The prices are quite a lot higher than you will find at suburban Thai’s. They even charge $2.50 per serving of rice for each person. But if you dont mind paying more, then this place is worth it for a high class, inner city experience.

This is a fantastic little Thai restaurant with lovely friendly service and outstanding affordable food. We have only ever ordered meals to take away but they’ve always been very generous servings. Can recommend the Penang Curry!

Four of us went there last night. It was very busy as it was the last day to use the voucher. We tried the lamb curry for the first time. It was delicious – very tender and the curry was perfect. We also had the fresh ginger beef and that was very tasty. The chicken dishes were very nice too. We were also given a $20.00 voucher which is definitely going to be used as the dinner we had hit the right spot. Well done Tusk Thai.

We went to Ruan Thai last night for my birthday. We’ve been there many times before over the past 5 or so years and found it to be a pretty reliable joint. Last night though the wheels had completely come off. It was only about half full but the staff seemed to have totally lost control of the place. My wife asked me several times whether I thought the wait staff had forgotten we we were there. It took 20 minutes for them to take our drinks order and only when I managed to catch one of them by waving, and then an age until I managed to flag down a harried waitress to take our food order. The entrees came 10 minutes apart and then they went AWOL with the mains – we sat there for close to an hour watching takeaway orders fly out the door and we received three apologies and promises that the food was “coming soon” after finishing our bottle of wine due to the ridiculous wait, we got up, paid for the entrees and wine and left after abandoning all hope of getting the main courses. This place used to be a reliable and safe bet in Mission Bay, but it’s now looking a bot run down and tired and they seem to have simply lost interest in the place. We won’t be back.

To be honest ‘OK” sums this place up. We headed along as a group and I was really looking forward to it. However the experience was average Thai food with just average service. Out of the six dishes we had nothing stood out. I would not head past your good local Thai restaurant to get to Zap.

We loved the freshness of the veges, and the great flavours. We ordered the “10 Vege Delight & Cashews” for $13.50 … which was honestly SO delicious – I’ve never seen my preschooler eat so many different veges in 1 sitting! We also had the Pad Thai, which was absolutely gorgeous too. The two of us perched on the bar-leaner style table, and watched the world go by as the sun set. We had the meals in takeaway bowls which we took home for ‘daddy’ to finish off, as we were so full we couldn’t finish the big portions. The place was bright, fresh and clean. Staff were helpful and food was pretty quick. Parking was right infront of the shop, so really easy. Thumbs up to this place.

This restraurant is one of the best in auckland. The environment is very nice. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is fantastic. the staff are professional and very polite and friendly. I really enjoyed my dinner at thia village.

I went to Thai Village with my boyfriend. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked them about their recommendations. We ordered curry and pad thai noodles. They were very delicious! I love noodles and this was the best pad thai noodles I ever had in Auckland! I recommend anyone who loves pad thai noodles to try this place out.

Been there on numerous times as a big group and as a dinner for 2 and it’s always been great! Great food, friendly service and beautiful atmosphere (love the little hut outside). Love the dessert, the hot banana fritters is a must have!

Excellent food and ambiance. However, don’t rely on the online reservation system. We made a reservation on the day required but no confirmation email received. Fortunately we were accommodated!
