Please never take this from the menu.
Had the pleasure of sampling the pizza’s too and will be back for them one day as well
Keep the excellent work in the kitchen guys, and honestly look into bottling and selling that relish.

16/05/2012Food, staff and coffee are great. Quite noisy if you are seated inside. Only one gripe… Coffee is served in miserable sized cups. Paying nearly $5 for a coffee I would expect a good sized cup or mug.

15/05/2012I have been a daily regular at this cafe since it opened, the staff have always been eclectic yet amazing, and more often than not have provided above average service. The food has always been easy on the eye and diverse, a little something for everyone! I have yet to be disappointed. I have rarely had a bad coffee from this place and would recommend it as the most consistent and lovely coffee for those who appreciate a good brew. The best lil neighborhood coffee spot, that really values their regulars!

14/05/2012We took a party of seven for Mothers Day lunch, enjoyable setting looking over the 18 green. Although a small lunch menu everyone found something to their liking and food was very good. Desserts fantastic as well. I bit of a wait for the mains but overall the service was of a high quality. Definitely going back.

14/05/2012Food was OK without being great, though good enough that we were even talking about bringing family who are visiting next week along, but this all changed when got the bill and had been charged $5 for a side of bacon that was about the same size as one of the eggs. Due to the fact they took the piss out of charging that much for a tiny piece of bacon they have done themselves out of a repeat customer. Will be looking elsewhere to go in future

13/05/2012WORST coffee I have ever had from that place. The young man who made it for me has to be one of the worst baristas I have ever come across. The coffee was bitter and the milk over extracted. Professionally, he was very scruffy and certainly not a very good look for a business! Facial hair while working around food is a definite no no in my books! I will be recommending to others to steer clear of the place, for coffee at least. The food is awesome and so delicious. Perhaps some training is in order for some of your staff?

13/05/2012We booked a table of 13 people for Mothers Day today. When we arrived, there was quite a que at the counter ordering meals so I asked another waitress where our table would be but was told quite rudely I would have to line up. After lining up for quite a while, we found that other people were seated at our table. They managed to clear another table outside for us. We proceeded inside to order our meals and were told there would be a 30 – 40 minute wait for meals from the kitchen. When I asked the question “How many chicken tenders are in a meal” – to decide if my children could share one – the waitress said “How would I know”. We all ordered meals, some from the kitchen and some from the cabinet. Our drinks came out in dribs and drabs over a 30 minute period except for my 3 childrens milkshakes. After 45 minutes waiting, I asked only to be told they were coming but no apology. Also the people who ordered from the cabinets had their meals brought out so were well and truely finished by the time everyone else got theirs. Our meals came out after 1 hour 20 minutes. There was no apology. Nobody ever came to our table to see if we wanted water or any other drinks. There were a lot of staff working and although it was busy – it wasn’t that bad. The food was very nice but this is the worst service we have ever had. We will not be back and certainly won’t be recommending it to any of our friends.

06/05/2012I go to this coffee culture branch often, and I love the Iced Coffee range, especially the Iced Choffee and Mocha Frappe’s. However, when we visited tonight, me and my friend went to sit in an empty booth while my other friends were in the line buying drinks for us. Then a waitress came along and told us and ask whether we ‘snuck in’ while she wasn’t watching and told us that we can’t sit in these seats because they are ‘reserved’. Well first of all Coffee Culture isn’t a restaurant, there is no waitress at the front of the store to direct us to seats and tables so why do we get accused of sneaking past her? In my past experiences at coffee culture, we order the drinks and find an empty seats to sit in. And frankly, me and my friend definitely would not have sat there if there was a ‘table reserved ‘ sign on the booth, which there wasn’t!

06/05/2012I go to this coffee culture and I’ve tried lots of the beverages on the menu. I particularly love the Iced Choffee and Mocha Frappe’s. However, I recently tried the Cookies and Cream Frappe’s, and my god they did not taste good! The glass was basically filled with milk watered down and garnished with oreos on top, when you mixed the drink it basically looked like I was drinking a concrete mix that tasted like watery milk. Took a few sips because it was a waste of $6 but then decided I just couldn’t drink anymore of it. My friend loves the Cookies and Cream Frappe but he normally drinks it in the Rotherham Coffee Culture, so perhaps my Frappe just wasn’t made to perfection at the time that I went.

04/05/2012How difficult is it to make a bacon sandwich? It’s just two rashers of bacon between two slices of toast. It really shouldn’t be that hard. It seems it’s too complicated for Scarborough Fare Cafe who have admitted they could’n't manage it. No worries, there are plenty of other places in Sumner that can.

26/04/2012Have had several meals here, lunch and dinner, and have not been disappointed. Good service, excellent boutique wines, and must have made fortunate choices with the meals, not having had the disappointing experiences the other reviewers mention. Lovely relaxed setting.

24/04/2012Great service and most of the food was excellent, however I had the beetroot and orange salad but when I got my dish there was no orange flavour or orange pieces in it at all also lacked seasoning making it a bland taste and disappointing. Perhaps that is something that could be improved on for next time. Thank you for the opportunity to comment

23/04/2012Silverbacks Cafe is an exceptional place to come for coffee and breakfast. I come nearly everyday, the staff are amazing, they have to make the best coffee in the city!!! Their inspiration comes from the Silverback Gorilla, and as soon as you step into the cafe you are welcomed by a bright and friendly team of staff that go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your meal and drinks. They also have inspiration from a Dutch culture amongst the staff and this is reflected in the most pleasureable, tastiest treats in their cabinet. Their Breakfasts are to die for also! They can do your eggs to your request which is something that we keep going back for as they are prepared to make you more than welcome. I highly recommend this wee, tucked away cafe, a great place to meet new people, or just to sit and read the daily paper!
