Woohoo, as good as it gets! When it comes to curry this truly is curry heaven. Whether you get takeaways or dine in, you are in for a treat. Staff are awesome and if you like hot but not fire-out-your-mouth hot, ask for kiwi hot. They will know what you mean and get it A+++ every time. Super delish and we recommend the appetizer for two. It is amazing with a variety of things to try and beautiful dipping sauces. Perfect in every way, we live for this place and bow down to the chef.

10/10 – when we go out for a meal, we always come here as we don’t want to risk having a bad experience elsewhere. The man who serves us is always very friendly and our dishes are always sizzling hot and delicious. The prices are very reasonable and we love how the mains come with little side dishes to try.

My partner had pain in his left leg so the waitress came out and started massaging his leg while we ate which was very nice.

Food was great, staff were friendly, restaurant was nice and warm. However… Went here with my partner and our parents as they were meeting for the first time. Not the best choice of restaurant if you’re planning on having a conversation where you can actually hear eachother as it’s very noisy. Apart from that, very good.

I had my wedding at the George Washington, My wife,guests and I really enjoyed ourselves we were well looked after by the friendly staff. There was so much good feedback from our guests acknowledging how delicious the food was they were wanting to know if the George Washington was opened all the time. Its sad to see the bad buzz comments which is not at all true, Ive found in customer service the people that do complain are always wanting to see what they can get for free and don’t know how to enjoy life. Thank you George Washington for making our day so special good memories to cherish. Denice was always there when we needed him and easy to talk to. We highly recommend George Washington and look forward in dinning there soon.

i have been getting ayutthaya thai (take-awayay and dine in) for over 4 years now and love it here. it is my favourite thai in wellington. i have been to many thai restaurants in uk, middle east and asia (including thailand) and this food is up there with my top 5! service is not exactly wonderful, but sort of reminds me of my time in thailand , so makes it more of an authentic thai experience! my favourites are the veggie spring rolls, red curry and pad thai. yummmmm! check this thai resto out!

awesome pizzas! love the vegetarian damned pizza! lovely ciabatta garlic bread and awesome lemon pepper wedges! also love the corn nuggets. delievry is usually very timely and if they do a special deal for your pizza! also with regular service they often give you vouchers for free delivery or garlic bread. would really recommend!

always have a lovely curry from here. sometimes inconsistent as it doesnt always taste the same, but still always tastes great! lovely veggie korma and veggie paneer dishes and good samosas. would recommend;-0

This was a bit of a find for us. We’ve had hit and miss Chinese meals for a while – you find somewhere and think wow – this is fantastic – you go back, it’s a little less up to your expectation – and downhill from there. We’ve had a mixture of both eat in and take-away over the last three months and each time we’ve really enjoyed it. The food is good. It’s tasty, always hot and good size portions. It’s tasty although perhaps a little limited in menu choice but all round good. The atmosphere of the place is a little hard to fathom. It’s a large – large area with chunky tables and chairs yet we still feel as if its private enough to appreciate your own space. Strange! We’ve had little to complain about in terms of service. Staff always appear friendly (although, when I think about it the lady who organised our doggy bags last night was a tad grumpy!). Overall a good solid all rounder. I see from other reviews the experience hasn’t been all great. I will keep my fingers crossed that I’m not eventually one of the unfortunate.

Awesome place to go! We have had many celebrations here as well as quiet intimate evenings and we have always been impressed. Food is brilliant, they are BYO which keeps the cost down, service is friendly and personable, I highly recommend

I had my 50th birthday there recently. Nothing was too much trouble for Grace and the team when I wasn’t totally sure of numbers, regarding tables and seating. They also allowed my sister in prior to decorate the table and with help from the team to put the Happy Birthday sign up. Could not fault the food at all, it was really yummy, hot to the table, and everybody enjoyed themselves. Thanks Andrews R, your one of the best!

I recently had the good fortune to be told by friends about this newish restaurant in Petone.We immediately liked the look of buddha stix. Quite trendy and nicely fitted out. We did not have a booking, but being a Saturday night we were told that we didn’t need to book but when we got there it was quite full but the staff organised us a table and seated us immediately. The menu was great. The service was quick and friendly. The were lots of options for main dishes, with curries, laksas, stir frys etc. We ended up staying for desert only let down was we had to chase a waitress down to order dessert but we were enjoying ourselves so it was no problems, there brownie was great and a huge serve. Would recommend!!

Ordered a vege fried rice that came full of pork. Asked the waitress to maybe discount the order and we will pick out the meat (as one of us is vegetarian) or bring us another one. Received nothing but attitude and rudeness from the waitress and was basically told too bad. Shocking, unfortunately not the first time the service has been appalling and there is nothing “Amazing” about the food either. You will get the same from any Chinese takeaways in Lower Hutt minus the rude service. Given that we tried to sort something out and gave them a chance this was a pretty poor result. Wont be going back.

Had a catch up lunch today at this Cafe with two friends. We had been in August last year and found it superb, today however was a different story. All of our mains were lukewarm but as we were seated by ourselves upstairs and they were busy downstairs we ate them anyway as so hungry. The Big Breakfast one of my friends ordered, is what she orders everytime only today it should have been called “the small breakfast” and for $21 a rip off. Last time she had a much bigger serving of everything and today only one little sausage and the crispy potatoes were like little chips and she only had 5 of them as part of it. My other friend and I ordered the Potato Rosti stack which was also a small serving for $18.50. When our plates were being cleared we were asked how the meals were and we were honest and the waitress got someone to come and see us who said they would improve that for next time. We had already pre-ordered coffee otherwise would have gone elsewhere for coffee but wanted something sweet with it so went down to pay for a slice, muffin and piece of cake, at this point being given a discount on the sweet items, or even given them for free, would have been a nice gesture but nothing was offered, which is why I am writing this and will also not be recommending this Cafe to family and friends. If you had offered us the sweet items for free or at a discount to make up for the poor main I would have given your Cafe another go but not now. By the way, the caramel oat slice and muffin were yummy. The carrot cake was being taken away, but not even put on a paper plate before being put into a paper bag, hence the oil from the cake eventually come through the bag on the drive home – very disappointing!

Next few times I go it will be five, but since it was my first dinner there, I can only say! Service was Excellent! They really knew their stuff, what was on the menu, all ingredients, and most of all it satisfied. My taste buds fully! there was nothing left on my plate! Atmosphere was relaxed as you would expect. Chefs, accommodating and friendly. Would HIGHLY Recommend Mama and Aunty were very happy xxxxxxxxx

Poor service really brings this place down. Staff seem put out at all our (reasonable) requests. Food adequate, but pricey. Didn’t like having to queue twice at different areas for our order from menu then from cabinet.

Thank goodness it was open Mothers Day. Brunch was great. I had BLT with lashings of bacon, two adults had soup, one had pizza and one had the big breakfast, the service was good, the food was hot, the cafe was warm, it was a cold day.

Went with friends on a friday night, felt like a bit of a criminal walking in with a wine bottle suddenly couldnt remember if it was BYO or not, stuffed the wine in to our bags while we scoured the wine list for a clue, nothing there, googled it, and what do you know it is BYO, the staff are just slack. After having to go up and ask for wine glasses and dinner menus (15-20mins after we arrived) we could finally get on with ordering. Entrees were a mixed bag risotto balls were great, but calamari was like deep fried rubber bands Had the char grilled salmon for the main, and it was truely delicious almost enough to make my forget about the start of the night. This was shortly ruined by a trip to the toilets where i nearly slipped over due to water (i hope) and toilet paper all over the floor, granted it was later in to the night and i had a few wines by then, but still that visual basically sums up my lasting impression of the place.
