We went here a couple of weeks ago, me & my partner and her kids .I ordered the steak & she had the chicken snitzel, which was a bit dry . My steak came it was nice but the kids burger was under cooked we had waited at least 40 mins for and mains after our garlic bread service not that great. The meal wasnt that big either as they advertised & wasnt much salad with it. We wouldnt go there again.

3rd time I have dined at Elke’s and I am still impressed!
Service is great but on top of that the food is sooooo good. A great dining experience. I had the cordon blu chicken tonight and I have NEVER tasted chicken so good 
It is also a bonus that they have BYO.

It was a great opportunity to visit Travancore Hut last week. I thoroughly enjoyed the ‘meen pollichathu’ (fish roasted/fried in banana leaf) and ‘parotta’. If my understanding is correct, it is the only Kerala restaurant in Wellington and the second in New Zealand after the one in Auckland. You will get puttu, appam, dosa and most of the Kerala cuisines in Travancore Hut. When I arrived there, the restaurant manager, Sumodh John greeted me with a very pleasant smile; since then was a great experience. Surprisingly, the restaurant was full with New Zealanders on my day of visit, although it was a Wednesday and I was the only non-New Zealand origin kiwi dined in the restaurant in that evening. I recommend Travancore Hut to everybody. I am, in fact, taking some kiwi friends in the coming Friday. Dr Alex Thomas

For the first time in Wellington, a pure authentic South Indian restaurant. Came recommended to us and we were not one bit disappointed. Food was absolutely authentic, fresh and the service was top of the world. Did not have to wait long either. True hospitality is something to learn from these guys. They took great care to serve our dishes to the exact need. We are pure vegetarians and it is such a relief to know they prepare veggies separately. Would recommend if you are after authentic Kerala cuisine served with a smile.

I’ve always loved the atmosphere of Mayfair and The BoileRoom. I Had my birthday dinner party here with a set-menu organized with their staff, the food was amazing with great portions. The staff was very kind and responsive to any requests needed for setting up the place as well as just communicating with my guests. The important thing for me was that my friends were happy with the food and the setting and they definitely enjoyed the whole night. I love the unique twists on certain meals in the menu, making them a little bit more exciting to try. Definitely a hidden gem in Upper Hutt city that everyone needs to check out asap!

Excellent food- authentic Kerala Cuisine and best of all – made from fresh ingredients. Highly recommend the Meen pollichathu. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Will go again.

Stopped by this cafe early-ish on a Sunday morning for a coffee and a bite. Coffee was fantastic, staff was friendly and love that its in an old church! The decor is kind of grandmother gone hipster and very cool. The boyfriend had a full breakfast and said his scrambled eggs were perfection. I couldn’t get past the salmon sandwich in the cabinet and it was as good as it looked. Wish I’d had time to get something sweet from the cabinet. There was a chocolate cake that looked AMAZING. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

Didn’t enjoy at all. Butter chicken tasted like a can of tomato sauce had been poured over chicken, naan was nice. Wouldn’t go there again! Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there either! There were hardly any chicken pieces in my main, which wasn’t satisfying at all,
