Me and my bf had dinner there last night, the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and the lady beth who took care of us for the night was extremely helpful and polite that made our night a whole lot better would defiantly go there again

Food was good. People were very very rude. Asked for barcardi, looks like they don’t know to measure drinks, it was more like drinking just coke. Will never again go their, their rudeness ho? . Very bad. Rating zero.

We were disappointed with the lack of atmosphere, expecting it to have a more Italian feel to it. The meal was reasonably good, but the restaurant was strangely presented. The kitchen was over the other side of the counter and open to view. The waitress spilled my drink on me by accident, assisted with the cleanup but did not replace my wet napkin. But the worst thing of all was being told there would be a charge to lighting the birthday candles on the cake we had brought along to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I was astounded when I was told there would be a charge, and that it would be the equivalent to the cost of a dessert – $9!!!!!! We will not be going back to that restaurant, ever. We dine out often, and have never experienced a charge when it comes to lighting a birthday cake we have brought along ourselves.

Great menu. Everything that we ordered was delicious. The service was also excellent with very helpful and friendly staff. It was a cold night and the restaurant was nice and cosy. Nice atmosphere. It was our first visit and we will defintely go again.

Well, I was very dubious about ordering here, due to the last few reviews…but out of time and hungry. We ordered Butter Chicken, and Garlic Nan Bread, and I have to say it was Fab!!! yes the Garlic Nan was very garlicky, but I like it that way;) I can only comment on the dish I had….but I will DEF order here again and for $20 bucks…..a bargain!

Was amazed that the food were as good as advertised! Beyond expectation. Very good selections of sushi s, not forgetting the vegetarians too. I had a hearty bowl of ramen noodles and the mix tempura s batter was fantastic! Still as crispy even when cooled. Must try to believe! Excellent service , friendly and warm from the moment i stepped in. Will be back for sure!

I had an awesome lunch at Black Salt today and the service was excellent. We were serviced by Alex and he is so friendly and very good and knows what he’s talking about. The food is excellent and I would recommend this place…I’m from Wellington and I will definitely be back…thank you Alex for today.

We recently held a combined 40th at Black Salt and it was fantastic. We had amazing customer service with fantastic communication in the lead up to the function. The service and food we had on the night was first class and well enjoyed by all our guests. The staff were friendly and well clued up when it came to setting up sound systems and photos etc. We found Black Salt to be fantastic value for money and would definitly reccomend to others and will definlty go back for future functions. Thanks again for an amazing night.

Not impressed, went to the shop, no one to greet us, after pressing the bell someone appeared, asked for Portuguese chicken said it’d be an hour, asked for a chicken biryani my guess it came straight out of the fridge as all he did was heat it up, even then it was cold. Not impressed.

I tried this place last week for the first time. It has a really nice atmosphere with heavy wooden tables and a cool looking kitchen. The staff were friendly and I thought the food was very authentic. I had a sashimi bento box while my partner had beef teriyaki don and miso soup and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The prices were very reasonable for what you get. I will definitely go again. Great to see more quality eating places opening in New Lynn!

This place has the feeling that it could be fantastic, open, airy with lots of outside seating and parking. All this along with an attractive menu and cabinet food. While the coffee is great both dishes we had were very bland. We had the chicken sandwich from the cabinet and the risotto balls. Neither had any real taste and did not standout. I think the chef needs to taste the food more. Not worth traveling any distance to find, however driving around the old base is interesting.

My husband and I love this place. We stumbled across it one afternoon and had a beer and the chickpea & mozzarella chips and we fell in love. The ambiance is so different to anywhere else in Auckland and the view is amazing. The food is of an international standard in my opinion. You can taste the freshness in the ingredients. There is always a vegetarian option and the option of a smaller size portion for the pasta dishes is nice for those with a smaller stomach. Going here is definitely a treat for us and we like that we can always expect good service and food. You can’t say that about a lot of places these days. We went back for my husband’s birthday last spring and brought some friends who really enjoyed their experience as well. We just really hope they keep delivering such a great all-around experience!

Was really surprised about the bad reviews on this site about The Refreshment Room. Have been there many times and have always found the food excellent. The chefs and management are clearly passionate about food, use high quality fresh ingredients and know what they’re doing in a kitchen. The menu frequently changes and is always interesting, original and invariably tasty. In the past we have had a couple of service experiences that I’d describe as more awkward than unpleasant, but in recent months it’s been friendly, professional and fun. Living in Titirangi it has become our regular go-to choice for my partner and I.

Visited the restaurant to celebrate my son’s graduation. We had friends from abroad with us. As usual it was a wonderful experience. Service and food are always good here. The menu is well planned and has something for everyone.

Went to Vevo for brunch this morning and were stoked with the menu and the vibe there. As well as some new spins on old favourite breakfasts there were some brilliantly creative dishes too. I had a healthy, fresh and delicious smashed peas, broadbeans and feta with poached eggs. My partner had poached eggs with caramalised onions and fig and bacon jam. Both were stunningly presented and packed full of flavour. Up till now we have found pretty much all Titirangi dining disappointing. Our only complaint is that Vevo doesn’t stay open for dinner because the chefs here are clearly passionate about what they do and nail it.

Beautiful food. Fresh, healthy, tasty, great presentation. Excellent service. Relaxing ambience. It has become our favourite restaurant in New Lynn. It’s great and rare going somewhere where they totally get it right… Particularly in New Lynn and Titirangi.

Went here for lunch. Was disappointed that the laksa was sold out but we had rendang, sambal fish and char kuay teow instead. The dishes were tasty as Malaysian food always is but I think it was a little too mild for my tastebuds. Not very authentic and quantities are average. Service was average too

Have visited this place a couple of times, most recently at their wine tasting evening which is thoroughly recommended. Fabulous food and great wines served by very pleasant staff – with a special mention for Jack who remained attentive to customers well being throughout the evening. Will definitely go there again.
