10/05/2012Creamy mushrooms and Pukeko Benedict a real hit here… oh, and the Lime Milkshakes are to die for (but be sure to ask for them, as they are not on the menu). Wait staff are attentive and always have a smile on their face. Great place to take the kids with adjacent Kiwi Valley Farm always a bonus and lots of chickens and animals lurking!

10/05/2012A little piece of Ponsonby makes it to Glen Eden. Really Fantastic. WE NEED MORE OF THIS IN THE WEST PLEASE! Given how busy this place gets, it is clearly a sign that the West needs to grow more businesses like this. There is a demand for it. WE LOVE THE EGGS BENEDICT. Please consider serving these during the week too! Also, feel free to bowl into the neighbouring shops and extend your fabulous cafe for more table opportunities! Love ya!

Haven’t really tried much food but this is no fault of there’s generally I am ther early and would have had a puku full already.

30/04/2012Great place and so good to see this funny little area utilised so well and with such style. It was packed when we got there on Sunday for brunch and we thought we’d probably have to wait ages but we got a seat and straight away were offered drinks while we looked at the menu. The service was friendly and prompt, which was really appreciated and the food was delicious. The eclectic decor and furnishings work well and look great, reminded me a bit of Fat Dog Cafe and Bar in Rotorua. I would have given this 5 stars except I thought $4.50 for 2 mushrooms was a little steep.

29/04/2012I’ve been to Luscious Food Store in Te Atatu twice now. I was very impressed with our food and the atmosphere. The staff seemed very hard working despite being under a lot of pressure. It is difficult to find cafe’s that have good wholesome food these days and Luscious is certainly one of them. It is also even harder to find child friendly cafe’s. I was extremely delighted to see the large area for kids outside with activities for them also. This is very rare to find these days. At most cafe’s with my kids I am stressed as they make it quite plain in an indirect way that they don’t really care for kids being there, so it’s practically impossible for parents with small kids to relax. We live 30 minutes away and I am prepared to travel that far again because of the food and child-friendliness. What people need to realise is that our society is made up of kids as well as adults and like Luscious needs to embrace them, enjoy them and cater for them. This would not only profit society but make for more relaxed kids and parents.

27/04/2012Friendly staff, but disappointed that having read the reviews and both of us deciding to have their “signature dish” (which other reviewers have recommended) – the Cucina Grill – to be told that it is not available for lunch – don’t understand that at all as this cafe is only open for breakfast and lunch?? Settled for the mushroom and bacon pasta, but very bland – more cream than anything else – I’m sure kids would love it, but the pasta I cook for family week night dinners is far superior and at $17.95 definitely overpriced for what we got. Coffee was good and the little biscotti a nice touch, but no desire to return.

Te Atatu Peninsula
25/04/2012I came here because I had seen a good review. We went for breakfast. It took ages for us to be served – even though we were the only people in the cafe. I’m sorry but the waitress, was too slow, old and useless. I cant believe how difficult ordering a coffee was. Which appears to be everybody’s complaint reading below. The breakfast came, and it was really good. The portion was perfect for a young woman. The food was really good, it was clean and fresh. The coffee was OK. Then half way through our meal, all of the mothers came piling in with their screaming children, which wrecked the whole atmosphere. There were some business men who didn’t look to impressed either. I understand this place is great for families, but I thought it was ashame that such great breakfast’s almost fine dining was wrecked by snotty nosed kids. Oh well, but I wont be back again.
