Been brunching at the weekends at Lido for about 5 years now. Great food and great service. But not the coffee. Used to be ok but now it’s too strong/bitter. Something has happened – don’t know if they changed their beans or size of the cups or what. Have tried different coffee options but don’t like what they serve now. I just drink the water there and after brunch I grab a Mojo.

I’ve given this place a few chances, and never been impressed. Place is a bit dirty, and the hot chocolate I had on my last visit was weak and watery. Have had the pancakes in the past as well which were below expectations.

Went here today (Friday) I have to say, I haven’t yet tried their meals, but the Fries I had and the Mayo it comes with are like nothing else I have ever tried, as well as genuinely feeling like enough for the money (unlike a lot of other places). The Environment is quite nice when it’s not overly busy, the staff look happy and provide nice service. I plan to come back and try some meals when it’s not hugely busy; as it always seems to be when I walk past. I recommend the Fries and the Mayo/Aioli that comes with them; they are THE fries you will have wanted elsewhere for the price, but never got unless you come here. Worth a visit in Wellington so far.

visited simply the best in the weekend & what a beautiful & classy place it is. I’m from the Kapiti coast & wish there was more places like STB. the food was absolutely beautiful & out of this world, the staff were very helpful & friendly (another thing that is rear these days) this place definitely lives up to its name without a doubt & next time I’m in Wellington it will be the first place on my list to visit. highly recommend. well done simply the best!!! i will be telling everyone that i know.

good suburban cafe in lyall bay. nice chilled environment food is always high standard and service efficient. had the bacon hash last time wasnt so impressed with that seemed to be lacking in the key ingredient bacon! but otherwise big breakfast and eggs bene are always solid options.

Ok my partner and I have been here twice just to make sure the first time wasnt a fluke. And nope it wasn’t the desserts are to die for but can be a tad expensive. Will be working our way through that two page dessert menu before the end of 2012

Came here for desert and hot chocolates for my wife’s birthday. The service was fast and friendly even though the place was packed. I ordered the lack forest tower, it was a well constructed clever dish, that had multiple layers to enjoy. Best desert I’ve had at a restaurant.

I went to Maginnity’s for lunch last week with some girls from the office. What a great experience, not “boys clubby” at all. Had a nice private table booked, service and food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed my stuffed mushrooms and dessert was “yum” – summer berry pudding. All in all a great lunch – I’ll definitely be back!

I regularly have business lunches at Atlanta. The food is good, menu changes often and they are flexible for those of us that have dietary requirements. The coffee is good too.

I eat here often with my work mates, service is fast. And prices are so cheap for the CBD. I particulary love their open bacon sandwiches, all there meals come on the most amazing thick bakery sourdough, it’s devine. They are often super busy over lunch so pays to get in by twelve if you want to avoid the queue.

Average food, average coffee but overall interesting decor. However, make sure you order carefully! I ordered the big breakfast. When the meal arrived, the server informed me that they’d run out of sausages so had just substituted it for a 20c hashbrown. This is unacceptable. If a restaurant runs out of an item, the correct protocol is to inform the client and ask them what they would like to do (refund or substitute). I’m not a big fan of hash browns, so I felt totally ripped off…

I called in today to Soho after reading that they had a great baking selection. It was 1.45pm and the place had very few customers, the cabinets were also very full so plenty of choice. I choose a custard square unfortunately the custard was tough and rubbery but the icing delicious. Maybe its the fridge cabinets which keep them too cold. Anyway it was a real disappointment. The staff were great – the young man behind the coffee counter and the girl who bought my coffee were pleasant and friendly. Shame about the cake

Went here for lunch, it was extremely busy and very chaotic at the counter. We sat outside and it took a long time to place our order as there was a queue. After going back to our table I thought it would be a long wait given how busy it was, but it was only about 20 mins and the food was really great. I had the fish fillet on french bread which was awesome and full of flavour. Will definitely be going back. Beautiful location and great food.

My friend and I went for lunch on a weekday. We were casually dressed as we are both on holiday. Although not busy the front of house staff were unfriendly and distracted. The food quality was fine but portions extremely small. I know food costs are high but it felt a bit like rations. Coffee was very average. Olive cafe across the way is streets ahead for coffee.

Sat outside on a stunning day which was the only highlight. Ordered the $25 fish/chips & Salad which came out quickly. Extremely overpriced and was most displeased with the quality of the meal esp the random selection of tiny fish fillets scattered on the plate. My fiance ordered the B.L.A.S.T which was she said was ho-hum. Won’t be returning – Sorry.

I’ve been going to Little Peckish Cafe since they opened and I’ve never been disappointed with the food/coffee or service! They know my coffee order and start making it even before I walk in the door – what service. Margaret does a sterling job with her catering and I am never disappointed with any of her food. Its simply delicious and wonderfully presented. I always get asked who my caterer is. Her pies are to die for.

Love going to Lido especially on weekends, as they have free live music..great idea guys! Love the coffee and location…and of course the music. Service is good too, but can get crowded and frustrating if you’re waiting for someone on a busy day, but that’s to be expected at a location like this. Would suggest Lido to provide vegan food options and vegan cakes…I’m sure more people would become fans. Great job, guys!

Great food at reasonable prices. The gumbo was yummy and only $14!!! Obviously a popular place and generally don’t take bookings so I suppose not a place to go if time is important. Laid back atmosphere and I found the waiter helpful and pleasant. Nice atmosphere and groovy decoration!

This has been my go to restaurant for the last five or so years in Wellington, being a lover of all things Tex Mex, but I just can’t do it any more. The service is far too lacklustre. The last time I went, my partner and I waited 25 minutes to be served, and only when we tried to order a pork burrito and a fish taco were we told there was no pork or fish. The time before this, I was given the wrong type of burrito and not given a discount. The staff are rude and don’t seem to care at all – it’s a shame because the baja fish taco is freaking delicious. I won’t be going back – I’ll be spending my money at Viva Mexico instead.
