01/05/2012This is the best Thai in Wellington I have found that is affordable and delish! The staff are friendly the food comes out fast and is always amazing. My partner and i go about once a month, and when we have family visiting we always take them there and everyone always loves it. In fact we are going tonight just the two of us, and going back on Friday night with my sister and her kids. Love it!

30/04/2012I had heard mixed things about this restaurant so we’d thought we’d try a takeaway. Pad Thai and a yellow curry. It’s the first time I’ve ever ever thrown a meal away. The starters were ok but the curry was very watery and there was basically no veges or meat in it. It looked and smelt very unappealing.

27/04/2012Great food and friendly service. Unpretentious surroundings but the food more than makes up for it. Opposite WRAC so we often have takeaway or a meal there after the kids have finished waterpolo or swimming. The chicken stay is particularly good – tender and tasty.

Johnsonville
25/04/2012If you want good Thai takeaways at a reasonable price then Sawasdee Thai Restaurant in Johnsonville is the place. We use it regularly. We have also eaten in the restaurant. If you’re looking for flash surroundings and warm ambience there are probably other places you could find further afield. But if you just like Thai food and don’t want to pay too much then Sawasdee is definitely worth trying.

25/04/2012I don’t often write reviews but given the listed ones, I don’t feel that these are accurate or current. I am a regular here and often take new people every time. I’m not a fan of places like Thai Chef and maybe the difference is that Phu Thai is Esarn. Just two weeks ago I took my team in for dinner, there were about 11 of us and everyone loved it! All their meals are flavoursome, big portions and great pricing. It can get a little busy but if you book it has no worries. The carrot salad is amazing! Not many restaurants sell this in Wellington. Really lovely staff. Highly recommend.

23/04/2012I went to this restaurant for the second time in 4 years on Saturday with a group of 8. I had made a booking 3 days before and it was good I did that because the rest was expecting a group of 80 later at night. After we were sitted at our table the waitress didn’t bother to open our wine for us. Then she came to me who made the booking and said “we are busy so can you leave by 7.30pm”. We had arrived at 6pm for dinner as per our booking. I was shocked and embarrased when she asked us that because we were a group of friends meeting after a long time and there was no way we could finish by 7.30pm. I said to her, no we can’t and if this was the case I should have been told when I made the booking. She then went away had a chat with someone and came back and said “ahh its ok you don’t have to leave” Apart from the kafaffle the night went great. The food was a bit slow but was worth the wait. It was delish!! So yes …I would recommend this place. If you get annoyed with slow orders then don’t go here though coz it will annoy you. Cheers
