I went to La Bella Italia on a busy lunchtime, and absolutely loved the experience. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. I ordered ravioli and I loved it! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the filling was delicious. Our waiter was funny, engaging and made sure we were served. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. La Bella Italia is the best place for a family. I also tried one of their many pizzas, and was amazed! The sauce was beautiful, just the right amount of spice and tomato flavor. The many gelato flavors were very appealing, and the gelato I had was great. Once again, I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, and I would like to point out that the waiter we had was outstanding. Definitely go to this restaurant!!

Really disappointing! Such a lovely setting, but very expensive, and food almost inedible. I’d sack the chef, even the muffins and scones were horrible – so dry, and needed to be held together with butter just to get it into your mouth, and completely tasteless. Would never go back to eat there.

Very overrated, food ok but not amazing, and very small servings. Truffle mash was highly recommended but was very salty, and cold. Wouldn’t race back!

Had absolutely amazing service and food here, was very surprised, in a good way! Hadn’t been before but will definitely be back. Better than a lot of the top rated restaurants of Wellington. The waitress was excellent, made great recommendations, and was friendly and attentive. The fish was outstanding. Didn’t have dessert this time (due to time restrictions) but menu looked great. Can’t wait to go back!

Pretty slow, average service, great views, food only average-menu sounds quite interesting but doesn’t actually quite achieve what it’s hoping to. Wouldn’t go again, despite great view.

Walking past and liked the look of the menu, so called in for lunch. Very good menu, good vegetarian options, and carnivores kept happy too. I had haloumi on ratatouille which was very good, and the other 2 had the staek burger (divine, apparently) and apple cinnamon toast, also enjoyed. Service good, would definitely come again.

I was sooo disasappointed with my meal here this week, I had really looked forward to it, but I had risotto which was pretty tasteless, sides OK but nothing special, and dessert was good but not enough to make up for such an average main. Service was a bit slow. With so many great restaurants in Wellington I would choose another next time.

I’d really love to say this place is fantastic, as I’m all for local great cafes, but the service was so appalling and slow that I’d be lying! In fact despite having a reservation our table was given away to someone else while we had a drink outside in the sun, as we had been invited to, so we had to wait over an hour to get our table. The amuse bouche, while very tasty, was lukewarm, and we didn’t receive our mains till 10pm, even though our booking was for 7.30pm. The vegetarian main was not good at all, although all the meaty mains were very good. There was no apology at all for the wait, and the tables were so close together that the wait staff repeatedly banged into me from behind, again with no apology. Would definitely stick to the fantastic cafe just along the road. Won’t be going back

Great food, friendly staff, warm and cosy, definitely would recommend this place. Lovely open fire, fantastic place for a winter meal.

Definitely better than the other One Red Dog restaurant in Wellington, nicer atmosphere, great outdoor area, friendlier staff. Food not bad, service fast, would go again, as part of a family group. Need to get highchairs though.

I agree this place is awesome! Great menu, food doesn’t only sound good it tastes fantastic! Lots of choices for vegetarian, heaps better than anywhere else in this area. Have been for lunch and after looking at the dinner menu can’t wait to go again!

Food and service very average. Not a patch on the Chocolate Fish it replaced. Now lacks atmosphere, no buzz to the place.

Its hard to rate a place like this with such great food as only 3 stars, but with such rude sullen service how can it be higher? The garlic bread we had was average at best, but the rest of the food was great. The expensive chocolate dish is far too good to share!
Service slow, unaccommodating, patronising. Several times we were hit on the shoulder by the waitress when she wanted out attention!
Seriously need to work on the wait staff.

This place has surprisingly good food for such a busy bar, good menu, pretty good service, and would definitely go again.

Not very impressive overall. Don’t like the atmosphere, bright lights and large busy room. Service OK, desserts huge, sugary and a bit gross. Left after eating about a third of the dessert, and felt sick. Hope not to be tempted to go again!

This place is great, actually its cramped, busy, noisy, and the wait staff are variable, when we arrived we were told what time we’d have to leave by almost as soon as we walked in the door, but the food was fantastic, and we had lots of kids with us and they were very tolerant, fast service, will definitely go again. And the food, awesome!!!

Great restaurant to take the kids to! Very friendly and tolerant staff, with a really good childrens menu. Adults are able to eat a great meal here and know the kids are being fed decent food too! Definately worth a trip.
