This place looks more upmarket then most venues in area and one would assume the food would match that, looks though can be deceiving. I found this place on one of my strolls through Rotovegas and figured it must be good given how many people were in there service was good but food was pretty average, spiced lamb kebabs were edible but very bland I avoided yogurt on it entirely (at least I think it was yogurt?!?). Partner ordered noodles and it seemed a little underdone also, it could be it was off night but from my one and only perspective it just seemed like the place was glorified cafe pretending to be upmarket restaurant as prices were definitely not reflective. I also noticed clientele while I was in there to be quite aged (or it was grey power convention) I’m guessing if this was/is normal standard for the food, they must be relying on dulled taste buds of its clientele. So to summarise this place does have good variety on menu, service was this places saving grace for me, venue is appealing but food quality and prep is average with excessive price tag.

Was walking around aimlessly in rotovegas when I came across this place, its not too far from where they set up night market and near all major hotels like sudima/millennium etc, food was good, ordered a dish that’s basically prawn fried rice and jungle curry, fried rice was delicious but jungle curry was immensely disappointing, it lacked any kick (we asked for some heat, couldn’t be bothered sending it back), its basically tom yum disguised as curry for people that dont know. Overall service was good, decor is what you’d stereotypically expect of thai restaurant, biggest single let down is that I do think its abit overpriced, we only ordered 2 dishes and non alcoholic drinks and damage was at least $60, I Know this is major tourist town/City but given abundance of options,and had I known at time and came across other places I did I would have probably given it a miss.

I found this place to be fantastic for what it is, I wouldn’t consider it fine dining experience but food is extremely good and portion size for dinner was good as my partner and I couldn’t finish it, they offered to doggie bag it for us also without being prompted too which I found a nice touch. Ambiance is OK, food as mentioned was very good quality and awesome value for money, we ordered potato dosa which was great, prawn vindaloo was fantastic and butter chicken was to die for in my opinion, better then most places in Auckland (most mains where around 15, a little more for some seafood ones like prawn at $17). Mango lassi was nice albeit abit sweet for me, but tasty and refreshing noneless. I constantly saw people coming in to get takeaway (literally 1-2 people every 5 minutes although this was on Friday) so I’m pretty sure other
people feel same way as I do. Rotorua is extremely lucky to have such a gem. I did not do my waistline any favours by dining here.

I like pictures this place has on walls. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it has best sushi (this isn’t Jiro 3 Michelin star standard, its just a sushi place next to a bus stop O_o) but variety is quite good (try deep fried stuff), ingredients fresh, and prices are reasonable particularly for New Market and greater Auckland area, service is ninja to the point where even Bruce Lee would be impressed.

Went there for dinner other night, I’ve been here a about 3 times now in last couple months, on latest occasion my steak was poorly cooked, Chef obviously didn’t know that medium rare does not mean still moving and has pulsating heart beat, although they did rectify this when requested. Pasta was acceptable, with quite generous serving.

I would still come to this place in future, but the establishment really should do more to be more consistent given the prices it charges and general clientele it attracts. Service is generally quite variable in my experience ranging from poor to excellent, food quality/prep is also sometimes questionable. When I dine here I expect high level of service and excellent quality food, each and every time.

Been here a couple of times already but went there for dinner recently and ordered stuff off their yum char menu, there was about 8 of us and food came out quite fast and quick (although they didn’t have chee cheong fun because of the time we went), have no issue with quality of food, most of it was tasty, the only things that my palate took exception too this time was medicore custard tart, and fairly average deep fried taro. Service was ok but mostly because we didn’t have to deal with cranky manager when it came to paying since she was occupied with someone else :O). Food is averagely priced, easy to get parking (either free @ countdown (90mins) or at carpark(s) in front of restaurant), atmosphere is good, don’t forget too make a booking if your coming for lunch though, it sometimes gets insanely full.

Visited this place a few days ago on way home, had I known how bad service was I would have happily went somewhere else. I’m pretty sure all waiters/cashiers have communication issues, I was standing there trying not to burst out in laughter as person before me was ordering, when it came to my turn I had just as much difficultly, I had to resort to sign language almost to point out what I wanted, I must have also said like 5 times what level of spicyness I wanted my Chicken Burger (hot), needless to say this place fails bad *BEYOND EPIC FAIL), my chicken Burger arrived after a considerable wait (close to 30 mins, and there was barely anyone in there), and it was quite possibly the worst constructed burger I’ve ever seen in my life and was the mildest hot I’ve ever come across, tables were dirty, the restaurant is badly managed, poor customer service, I really have nothing good to say about this place and I can’t give this place less then 1 star, if you like dining in the 7th pit of hell or just mildly sadomasochistic, feel free to dine here, you might actually like it.

Lunch specials are very good value for money, I quite often get sagawala or their butter chicken. Service is quite speedy and waiters are friendly and accommodating, it gets a bit cramped though during busy lunch times so might pay to book ahead for larger groups. If you see some random dancing to Bollywood music vids playing on tv, that is probably me O_o chur.

Went there early July with group of about 10 people, wasn’t particularly busy as there was only one other table, although it might have been the poo weather, it did however take quite a while to get our meals out and I remember last order came out when most of us were practically finished. I order pilau (Sp?) which was kind average but given reasonable price I don’t have any complaints about this. My drink though was questionable, I ordered a hot chocolate, or as they called it a white hot chocolate, which is basically just microwaved milk with dusting of hot chocolate or milo, some of my work mates also ordered the same drink and we were just staring @ each other with a WTF!?! face….. at least now I can say I know how to make white hot chocolate.

Pretty good Thai restaurant, I’ll frequent most of thai places in east Auckland including sister Na na thai in Botany but this one has slight edge for me being just down road, plus it doesn’t have typical cheesy thai decor. Food is well presented prices are on moderate/high particularly for the sides, but given the location and views of the beach I’d take this one over Botany location. Was quite sparse when I went on Saturday recently, and no booking was required. Ordered Penang curry and I think my partner ordered love a duck, and couple average side dishes, mains were both above average taste wise, all food was well presented, and have no complaints about service, they were continually checking on us. If I wanted to impress someone, without the pomp of visiting Mission Bay, I would probably take them here , as a stroll on beach after dinner doesn’t go amiss. Parking is easy although I imagine this will probably change when summer hits. A++ from me.

It’s cheap and it’s nasty, I can’t really complain or say it wasn’t expected, but I was lucky enough to get the clean spoon and the food without hair in it lol.

I’d only recommend this place if you’ve got munchies and pass this place first before you get to a McDs.

Gave it a shot, quite disappointed given how people talked this place up. Service was ok, but the pizza bread was lacking, the actual pizza we ordered was also terrible (I should have just made my own pizza and saved $$), salad my partner ordered was also bland and lacking inspiration, I should have just walked to one of the countdowns for our drinks, food presentation also gets thumbs down from me, price wise the place is stupidly overpriced. I wouldn’t even go back if meal was free. I’d give this place 1/10, I’d give it a 0/10 if I factored in the obnoxious drunk patrons.

Food and prices are reasonable, food generally comes out quite quick unless its really really busy. Servicing sizes are quite substantial for some of the rice dishes, I’ve had better, but I don’t have any complaints about this place, if your in the area, give it a shot.

I eat here regularly despite my very poor opinion of it, only because I get dragged along during some lunch times.

There is only one of the staff that I would highly praise and I will generally always wait for her to take the order, but generally the service here is terrible, numerous times have I seen one of my friends order a vegetarian burger only to be given a chicken buger, its also the only Nandos restaurant that I’ve ever been to that has ran out of periperi salt!?@?!(before lunch time).

If you have a hankering for Nandos you probably don’t have much choice given the Botany/Sylvia Park Nandos are a reasonable drive away, but similiar to other Nandos the food is pretty average and overpriced for what you get.

Near my work, so I recommend lunch specials which are pretty good value for money. Been here for dinner a couple times with large groups as well and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed dining here, service has always been top notch, prices are relative given its location and still ok value for money, my only critism is that it has pretty poor lighting and entrees and desert menu is abit lacking.

Went here at least 3 times for Yum Char due it being near my work, but it was ok the first time and just got progressively worse, the waitresses were pushy and rude trying to palm of inedible dishes. Save your money, walk on.

I actually didn’t realise Hansan opened a branch in Newmarket, this branch is basically just a dressed up version of its Panmure counterpart, food is okish and value for money even on my el-cheapo scale so I can’t complain if I’m looking for a quick eat, but as per usual the service is subpar don’t expect fine dining despite its upmarket location.

Food is good, comes out fast and reasonably priced. Would normally come here for a quick eat or if I’ve subway’d myself out for the week.

I normally get dragged along to this place but service is ok IMO, the food though is bland, the only thing I’d recommend are the desserts, Banana Katsu was ok, chocolate fudge cake was nice albeit overly sweet. Prices are excessive for what you get.

I eat here regularly, they have a pretty good system here, food comes out pretty quick during busy lunchtimes, quality is ok as is the price. I’d recommend most things on menu, Laksa is ok, best hainanese chicken rice in Auckland, if not in world, just wish they wouldn’t skimp on chilli. If your coming here during lunchtimes on weekdays its best to book or come early-ish, it gets quite packed.

Overpriced for what you get, service is pretty random sometimes, I’ve recieved the periperi chips without periperi salt on numerous occasions, tables sometimes aren’t cleaned particularly well. Although in terms of Nandos restaurants this one and Sylvia Park beats Newmarket one hands down.

The restaurant is fairly new but I’ve eaten here at least once week since it opened for lunch or dinner, prices are moderate, service is good, but food is best I’ve had in terms of Korean. I’d recommend their teriyaki chicken, bulgogi, spicy beef, spicy squid, I’m slowly working my way through menu but I haven’t been disappointed yet . If your in Newmarket I’d recommend you give them a try.

Eaten here a few times now. Prices are pretty decent and food is above average. The only thing on menu I wouldn’t recommend is their style of teriyaki chicken and the ramen (but its just my preference, you might like it), cooks aren’t actually japanese but not that it matters if the food is epic.

Abit pricey for burgers IMO, but I’d take this over burgerfuel and murder burger anyday, good quality ingredients make for tasty burger )

Been here dozens of times over the years, the wait is abit annoying when its busy, but foods ok, japanese food made by actual japanese people is always a bonus ^_^
